Projects of houses and cottages in the Alpine style. Chalet house projects. Fireplace and furniture

As mentioned above, the word chalet meant lonely huts in the mountains; they usually served as shelter for shepherds or lumberjacks. In such houses they sheltered from snow and rain, cooked food right there - in a stone hearth, the prototype modern fireplace. There was no specific owner of the house, so the furnishings were extremely simple and uncomplicated. A style was formed - simple, using natural materials. The first floor was made of stones, sometimes whitewashed with lime for beauty. The second floor was assembled from logs, which were prepared right there from nearby trees. They made a simple gable, low-set roof to protect from cold mountain winds and snow avalanches. The chalet style became widely known as Alpine ski resorts developed. It was usually wealthy people who skied, and many people liked this style. Over the long, centuries-old history, a lot has changed, but simplicity and natural materials remain unchanged - everything that made chalet house designs so popular.

Advantages of chalet style houses

The advantage is that the combination of stone and wood creates this characteristic and recognizable appearance. The first floor in chalet house projects is built of stone, building blocks or bricks are mainly used. The second floor is made of wood, timber, profiled timber is used, double beam, rounded log. The main advantage is the combination of an enlarged base and a low, spreading roof. The projects are becoming more comfortable and larger than the first single chalets in the French Alps. However, you can be sure that when ordering the design of a chalet house from our company, you will receive all the benefits of this technology!

Features in design

When designing chalet houses, it is necessary to take into account their features:

  • high stone base (if the chalet project is one-story)
  • stone ground floor (if with attic)
  • the roof is squat, gable, with large overhangs
  • A special feature is the mandatory use of a fireplace
  • use of exclusively natural materials in construction
  • natural colors in decoration
  • rough plaster exterior, usually white
  • provide open terraces under long roof overhangs
  • balconies and loggias in the chalets are larger than usual

Chalet layouts

In our company, the layout of chalet houses depends on the wishes of the customer and the advice of an experienced architect. Available standard options room layouts, the basic principles are:

  1. The following rooms are usually located on the stone ground floor - kitchen, bathroom, boiler room, workshop, living room with fireplace.
  2. Layout of the second wooden floor should contain bedrooms, possibly an office for work.

We carry out all plans individually, often ordered one-story projects chalets, sometimes they ask to include a garage, or a bathhouse with a sauna on the ground floor.

Decoration and interior in chalet style

During the construction and exterior decoration of chalets, they usually use a natural stone and wood in the form of timber or logs. The walls of the first floor, both inside and outside, are most often plastered in light shades, for example just in White color. Wooden surfaces usually painted dark brown for the effect of old, darkened wood. In interior decoration flooring serves artificially aged batten, or painted with a patina effect, or varnished. To decorate the ceilings in the interior, leave ceiling beams painted in dark color in contrast with a light ceiling, it can be stretched. By the way, it will look very stylish, but quite natural.

Good afternoon What is the deadline for pouring the foundation? Thank you

A company specialist answers

Good afternoon, Lyudmila! It is more convenient, of course, to pour the foundation at above-zero temperatures, but there is various technologies pouring the foundation and antifreeze additives, which allow us to work even in the cold season, so we pour foundations all year round, excluding only extremely severe frosts. Please contact us with any questions, or you can come to our office for a consultation. There is also now a favorable offer for deferred construction - for the construction of brick houses, ceramic block or foam block according to the scheme “Foundation in summer or autumn, house in spring” there is a discount of up to 7%. Here is detailed information: http://www.site/about/special-offers Sincerely, engineer of the estimate and contract department Ignatieva Elena

Tell me the cost of an Alpine house with turnkey finishing. construction timeframes. Do I need to wait for shrinkage?

A company specialist answers

Hello, Oksana! The concept of “turnkey” includes, in addition to the box, finishing and engineering Communication. As a rough guide, we can say that the cost of finishing a wooden house is usually at least 80% of the cost of the box. The cost of communications (heating, water supply, sewerage, electrical) - from 100 euros per sq.m. The shrinkage of a house made of timber is approximately 12 months. Sincerely, engineer of the estimate and contract department Ignatieva Elena

Hello. I really liked the Alpine house project. Is it possible to remake the project for construction with foam blocks? Is it possible to make adjustments, for example, to the height of the ceilings, the location of the kitchen, etc.? How much is it?

A company specialist answers

good day, Elena! It is possible to build a house according to the project you have chosen entirely from gas silicate blocks, but its cost will not increase significantly. It is possible to make adjustments; as for heights, an increase by 1 block (25cm) will add 25,000 rubles to the cost. The architectural style of the chalet combines reliability, comfort and special charm, which explains its enormous popularity. For many, such buildings are a model of simplicity and comfort, an ideal place for a family hearth. Massive, strong, high-quality structures reliably protect from autumn dampness and winter frosts, and are simply ideal for the Russian climate. Modern projects chalet-style houses are noticeably different from traditional Swiss houses, but the basic, most character traits, remain unchanged.

This style is so characteristics that it is very difficult to confuse it with any other. Even despite the modern interpretation and the presence of several directions with ethnic motives different countries, the chalet houses are still recognizable and retain their unique flavor.

House architecture

Chalet houses are classified as buildings combined type, which optimally combine stone and natural wood. Classic housing is a two-story house, where the first floor is entirely made of stone and the second is wooden. As a rule, utility rooms are located below: kitchen and dining room, hallway, garage, and in large houses - laundry and boiler rooms. There is often also a living room there. The top floor is for living rooms, office, bathrooms.

Such buildings are characterized by large sizes, different levels due to mountainous landscapes, and the presence of wide encircling terraces. The balconies are also quite spacious, supported by wooden or brick columns. Any extensions or superstructures are not typical for such a building; the project initially calculates the number and location of all rooms that may be needed.

The roofs of houses are usually gable, very flat, with canopies and wide overhangs that can extend beyond the perimeter of the walls by 2 meters. This provides excellent protection walls and foundations from precipitation. The roofs are massive and have a reinforced rafter system, since they have to withstand high snow loads.

Most houses have high, powerful foundations and plinths - reliable protection from spring floods.

Doors and windows

Chalet houses very often have two entrances - the front and the side, especially if the building is large, there is a garage and other utility rooms where a separate entrance is needed. Simple doors rectangular shape, wooden, most often solid. It is not customary to highlight the front entrance with decor or color, although sometimes it is made in the form of an arch and lined with decorative stone.

There should be a lot of windows, large in size (panoramic ones are welcome), with a small number of lintels. Attic windows often have a triangular or trapezoidal shape, repeating the lines of the roof, all others are square and rectangular. Simple platbands and lattice shutters can be used as decoration.

Materials for construction and finishing

For a classic chalet, only natural materials should be used - wild stone and logs, but such construction will be very expensive. For this reason, almost all projects widely use concrete, foam block, brick, as well as laminated timber and frame structures for the construction of upper floors. Such materials can reduce construction time and reduce financial costs. To increase energy efficiency, insulation materials are used: mineral wool, EPS and other materials.

When finishing basements and lower floors, preference is given to artificial stone, plaster and basement siding, upper floors lined with clapboard. Natural tiles are traditionally used for roofing, as well as more affordable options - flexible tiles, ondulin, composite materials.

Decor and colors

It is not customary for chalet-style houses to be richly decorated, so stucco, mosaics, stained glass, patterns and ornaments on the walls are not used for decoration. Instead, decorative functions are performed carved frames and cornices, figured railings, consoles, stone-lined pillars at the porch, corners and chimneys.

Bright colors and too contrasting combinations are also unacceptable: the color scheme includes all shades of gray and brown, white, terracotta, sand. As a rule, the lower floor is decorated in light colors, the upper floor in dark colors.

Facade decoration in chalet style

To build a real chalet, considerable funds are needed, a significant percentage of which will be spent on developing the project. It is impossible to carry out calculations independently without special knowledge, and the construction process requires certain skills. But it is much easier to give an existing home the characteristic look of a shepherd’s cottage, and all the work can be done on your own.

Despite the standard combination - stone bottom, wooden top, there are a lot of finishing options. The first floor and basement can be sheathed basement siding, cover the walls with decorative stone tiles or, for example, plaster and paint the main area white, and highlight the corners and base artificial stone.

To finish the second floor, you can use vinyl siding, plank, lining, WPC, and the fastening does not have to be done only horizontally. Vertical wood paneling also looks great and gives the house a more expressive and colorful view. When choosing a finishing method, consider not only the cost of materials and appearance, but also the complexity of installation if you are going to do all the work yourself. For example, consider the cladding of the lower floor with stone plaster.

Prices for various types of facing stone

Cladding of the lower floor

Stone veneer cladding is a fairly popular finishing option. Plastushka (die) is called rolled fragments of sandstone or other rock of small thickness. These plates have uneven edges, smooth, layered or rough surfaces and uneven colors of various shades. High-quality laying of tiles is visually no different from natural stone masonry and creates the impression of massiveness and strength of the walls.

Preparing the walls

This facing material is quite heavy, so it cannot be mounted on weak foundation. To properly prepare the walls for finishing, you first need to dismantle the basement flashing, remove gutters, branches, and climbing plants.

After this, dirt is removed, areas overgrown with moss are cleaned, and also check how firmly the plaster holds. If peeling, swelling is detected, or a dull sound is heard when tapped with a hammer, this means that the old coating is no longer suitable and everything needs to be removed to a solid base.

Cracks in the walls are thoroughly cleaned and sealed with cement mortar, the same is done with deep recesses, chips, and through cracks.

IN brickwork Be sure to carefully inspect the seams and seal the voids with mortar. It is not necessary to eliminate small irregularities and roughness: when facing thick layer the adhesive solution will completely hide these imperfections. But stains from oils, bitumen and tarry substances should be completely removed, otherwise the solution will not stick to the base, and very soon the lining will disappear. Any solvent, gasoline, turpentine is suitable for cleaning. After the stain disappears, the wall area should be washed with soapy water and rinsed clean.

If the walls are made of bricks or blocks in good condition, without cracks and shedding, it is enough to treat them with a grinder with an abrasive attachment to remove frozen mortar deposits and possible irregularities. After this, sweep away the dust and cover the surface with a primer.

Best here soil will do“Concrete contact”, which will ensure the most reliable adhesion of the finishing layer to the base. The primer can be applied with a roller or brush, the main thing is that there are no missing areas, especially along the seams.

Tools and materials

During the cladding process you will need:

  • drill with a set of drills and a mixer attachment;
  • trowel and notched trowel;
  • mallet;
  • Bulgarian;
  • dry adhesive mixture;
  • expanded galvanized mesh;
  • mushroom dowels.

It must have increased adhesion to hold the stone plates, so when choosing, carefully study the information on the packaging. Cement-based mixtures are best suited - Ceresit CM 17, Osnovit Maxiplix T-16, LITOFLEX K80.

The plastic differs in thickness and color. There are options for gray, gray-yellow, all shades of brown, with red and purple tints and multi-colored splashes. Thickness varies from 10 to 100 mm. Gray-brown and gray stone is perfect for chalet-style finishing, as it closely resembles the color of the rocks of the Swiss Alps. You can take any thickness, but it is more convenient to work with a thin sheet - about 15-20 mm.

Advice. As a rule, plastushka stone is sold packaged in 1m3 packs on a pallet. The area that can be covered with this amount of stone directly depends on the thickness: for example, a package of 15 mm thick stone covers an area of 45 m2, but 50 mm thick stones are only enough for 20 m2. This information is always indicated by manufacturers, so calculating the required amount of material is not difficult.

Prices for popular drill models

Stone laying technology

Some craftsmen attach the plastic board directly to the wall, but for greater reliability it is recommended to use reinforcing mesh. It is fixed to the base using dowels with wide heads - at least 10 fasteners are required per m2. The mesh should be well stretched and fit snugly to the surface; adjacent sheets should be overlapped by 5-7 cm.

Next, prepare a thick cement mortar(1 part cement to 4 parts sand) and apply it with a trowel to the mesh. The layer thickness is approximately 10-15 mm, the solution is thoroughly rubbed over the mesh so that each cell is filled. If voids remain, the dies will begin to lag behind the wall and the cladding will have to be repaired. When the mesh is hidden in the thickness of the mortar and the mixture begins to set slightly, take a notched trowel and form a relief on the surface that will provide better adhesion of the stone to the wall. After the solution has dried, the walls are primed again.

Step 1. laid out on a flat, dry surface, one by one joining them together. They should fit as tightly as possible so that there are no large gaps. If necessary, any element can be trimmed with a grinder if some protrusion prevents you from placing the stone in place.

Stones for joining in internal corners are sawn in the same way

Advice. When cutting stones, be sure to use safety glasses and gloves, because small chips fly off the stone with great force and can cause injury. A respirator is also a good idea - stone dust easily enters the respiratory tract.

Step 2. Mix the adhesive solution according to the manufacturer's instructions. Calculate the volume of the mixture to be approximately 2-2.5 m2, since installation takes time, and the solution sets quickly. The prepared mass should stand for about 5 minutes, then mix it well again.

Step 3. Laying of dies is done from bottom to top. Before applying the solution, it is recommended to moisten the back side of the stone with water and leave for 30-40 seconds so that the liquid is absorbed into the porous structure. Next, the mortar is applied with a trowel, the stone is pressed against the wall and beaten with a mallet so that it takes the desired position. The solution should protrude slightly on the sides.

Press down on the stone so that the glue comes out. Remove excess with a spatula

We press the stone, forming a neat angle

Step 4. Take the second fragment, moisten it, apply the solution and carefully join the stone with the previous one. Try to press the stones so that the glue fills the gaps between them, but does not stain the front side. If this does happen, the solution must be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth, because after drying it is very difficult to remove traces of it.

Step 5. The remaining dies are attached, repeating the layout exactly. Having completed the first section, the joints are checked, and any voids found are filled with mortar. Next, the stones are laid out again on the ground, the mortar is mixed again and the next area is tiled.

When the solution dries, the walls are treated with a water repellent. This composition improves external characteristics stone, protects the seams from moisture penetration and significantly increases the service life of the coating.

Among the numerous trends in world architecture and interior design, eco-style is one of the main trends. Modern man wants to be closer to nature, so he increasingly chooses comfort village house, such as an alpine chalet.

The design of the chalet-style house, inside and out, is characterized by original details that retain the main features of European medieval rural life. Centuries-old tradition buildings are organically combined with modern technologies.

Classic chalet construction - shutters and carved balcony Source yandex.ru

Excursion into history

Chalet literally means “shepherd’s hut.” This was originally the name given to seasonal farms for dairy cattle that existed in the Alps, on the border of France, Italy and Switzerland. With the onset of cold weather, people and herds descended into the valleys, and the chalet huts remained empty all winter.

Already in the 18th century, the French appreciated romanticism mountain huts and began to decorate parks with garden pavilions made in a recognizable rural style. With the advent of alpine tourism, chalets slowly turned into holiday homes for enthusiasts of steep mountain trails and ski slopes.

Living conditions and the harsh nature of the mountainous areas influenced both the choice of materials and the architecture of the chalet houses. Modern designs follow an age-old recipe, using traditional construction and design techniques.

Chalet-style houses: modern realities

A chalet-style house is reminiscent of mountain peaks, sparkling snow and delightful fresh air. For a person tired of everyday worries, such a house will become a refuge from the modern rhythm of life, a place where you can put on a warm sweater and spend the evening near the fireplace, watching the cheerful flames.

The house is also suitable for people accustomed to energetic holidays - hunters, travelers, photographers, lovers of skiing, snowboarding and simply nature.

Alpine house - a modern interpretation Source pinterest.ca

Distinctive features of the style

Chalet houses or, as they are often called, Alpine (Swiss) houses were originally built on mountain slopes; they had to be built taking into account nervousness and elevation changes. Shepherds who lived in the Alps several centuries ago used in construction only those materials that could be found nearby. The harsh climatic conditions of the highlands forced the construction of reliable, massive and warm houses, capable of serving for decades.

Materials

A chalet-style house is a combined type of building that combines several types of material. The union of stone and wood helps to create a practical home that can protect from bad weather and rockfalls. Initially, solid stone was used on the foundation, ground floor and first floor; the roof and attic floor were built only from logs; later they began to use massive timber. Over time, the wood darkened, which gave the building a special, unique look.

Such a house was not afraid of gusty winds, snow storms, or pouring rain. In modern alpine buildings, stone is replaced with brick or cellular concrete; the attic floor is built from profiled or laminated timber, often frame technology. There are buildings made of rounded logs or unplaned timber.

Advantages of a combined alpine house

In the mountains of Europe there is little forest, but there is plenty of stone. To build an entirely stone house is time-consuming and expensive; to build an entirely wooden and at the same time durable home is difficult. The compromise was the combination of materials.

Combination of stone first and wooden second floors allows you to reduce construction costs, and then heating costs. But chalet-style houses are loved not only because of the opportunity to save money; they have other advantages:

Construction speed. A chalet house is built faster than a completely stone building. You can live on the first, stone floor without waiting for the completion of the second floor.

Durability. The stone bottom protects the premises from moisture; the tree, being high from the ground, retains its properties for a long time. The sloping roof with large overhangs protects the entire structure from the sun and precipitation; a layer of snow helps retain internal heat.

Environmental friendliness. House built from natural materials, does not affect health.

Recognizable style adapted to fast-paced life Source chicagoblackhawksjersey.org

Multiple design options. A chalet-style house is easily recognizable by main feature: stone “bottom” and wooden “top”. Further elaboration of the details of the style depends on the fantasies of the future owner and their skillful interpretation by the designer. Most often, they try to preserve the naturalness of the exterior and interior decoration, diluting it with features of other styles (from country to hi-tech).

Exterior of an Alpine-style house: distinctive features of exterior design

The first chalet houses were strikingly different from their current counterparts. The buildings were as simplified as possible, without spacious verandas and, of course, without large windows that increase heat loss. During the cold season, shepherds hid young and weakened animals in the building.

Modern technologies made the Swiss house more impressive in appearance, preserving the tradition of placement of the building. They try to turn the façade of a chalet-style house to the east; this allows rooms to be illuminated evenly. Main design features style remain unchanged and are visible from afar:

Roof. Gable (as a rule), flat, with large offsets. It perfectly protects walls from weather disasters (wetness or snow drifts). The roof is covered with traditional wooden shingles or modern materials - soft roof or metal tiles.

Number of storeys. Most often, two-story buildings are erected; the second floor is necessarily an attic.

Multi-storey chalets are typical of the Alps Source makemone.ru

Window. As large as possible, panoramic. Ancient shepherds sought to keep warm, the modern inhabitant of a chalet wants to enjoy natural landscapes. Modern technologies make it possible to combine the beauty of the landscape and the interior in an economical way.

Terrace or veranda(often glazed). Like a spacious balcony, one of the indispensable architectural details. IN warm time used as a summer patio.

On our website you can get acquainted with the most construction companies, presented at the exhibition of houses “Low-Rise Country”.

About the project: house layout in chalet style

Classic chalet houses were built on mountain slopes; There was often little space for construction. This affected internal structure. Architects have long studied the main features of chalet layout, interior and exterior, and successfully use them in construction. Modern chalet-style house designs have a basically standard approach to construction:

Ground floor. Livestock is no longer hidden here, provisions and household equipment are no longer stored here. On the ground floor there is a living room, kitchen, study, and on the second floor there are bedrooms.

Lack of entrance vestibule. If there is no veranda, outer door sometimes it opens directly into the living space, as in classic alpine buildings. In modern versions, the hallway is provided at the request of the house owner.

Interior of the entrance area of a chalet house Source archrevue.ru

Combination. To prevent the walls from reducing the internal area, it is practiced (on the 1st floor) to combine two or three zones into one space - the kitchen, dining room and living room. This space layout provides space and communication.

Facade elements. Terraces for summer recreation are made spacious, often encircling the building.

Facade details. Shutters, protecting an Alpine house from the piercing wind, with the advent of double-glazed windows turned into original decor. But the tradition of decorating the roof, doors, railings of terraces and balconies with carvings has been preserved.

Interior details. A fireplace is an indispensable component of an Alpine house project.

About the secrets of the chalet style in the video:

Modern chalet house designs do not aim to compete with ancient mansions. They are built with an emphasis on durability, coziness and comfort. Modern technologies allow the construction of three-story buildings, with a basement, sauna, garage and modern communications.

Features of building a chalet house

Modern chalet houses continue the traditions of medieval masters. Construction companies offer modern and comfortable houses turnkey chalets, both standard and custom-designed individual order. High-class architects and designers, experienced engineers and builders take part in their creation.

Because the natural stone(slate or pebbles) - expensive material during construction ground floor it is replaced with brick or foam concrete. Stone (natural or its artificial analogue) is used for cladding. Exterior finishing chalet-style houses can be used textured plaster pastel colors. As for the attic, the tradition of making it from timber or logs has been preserved.

Interior: features and details

The chalet style, originally masculine and rough, has long been adapted to today's realities and has been divided into two directions. One is filled with rural comfort, peace and quiet, the other is filled with hunting romance. The first is dominated by pottery and paintings in wooden frames, the second by tapestries and hunting trophies.

In the interior of both directions there are no random elements, just as there is no ostentatious luxury. The living room of a chalet house will in any case comply with the canons:

Living room interior in an alpine house

A spacious room with high ceilings and panoramic windows. Animal skins, massive furniture and warm carpets will highlight the charm of the style. Lighting can be multi-level. An antique central chandelier (with imitation candles) will create coziness together with sconces, table or floor lamps with lampshades made of natural fabric. An example of a chalet-style house interior, photo of a spacious living room:

Natural materials in the interior decoration of the living room Source pinterest.com

Colors and decor

All shades of natural wood are held in high esteem; style is not acceptable bright accents. If there is not enough color, you can add beige, black, wine, gray, cream or dark blue. Terracotta, marsh and wenge are allowed.

Details define the design of a chalet house; inside they are no less important than in other styles. Alpine motifs can be traced in the design. The necessary color is created by paintings and photographs in solid frames, with views of mountains, forests and valleys. In such an interior, ceramics look good, but without glaze, dull, matte. Metal and plastic will seem like alien parts; luxury, gilding and mother-of-pearl are signs of bad taste.
