Lego brick: building is as easy as playing. Lego Brick: advantages, characteristics, equipment for production! The difference between Lego bricks and regular bricks

When discussing a building material such as Lego bricks, it is extremely difficult to isolate the grain of truth from the multiple conversations about this product and find out its truly true characteristics. The very name of this type of brick, borrowed from a popular company, carries a simplifying task, which is often not beneficial. This especially affects professionals in this activity and more experienced amateurs.

Thus, the term Lego brick, literally translated from English, sounds more detailed and complete - “interlocking brick”, which means “mutually interlocking” bricks, interlocking brick, that is, a brick with a lock.

Lego bricks - characteristics and features.

The main characteristics of this brick product include:

  • strength - M 150,
  • density - 1550 kg/m3,
  • frost resistance - 35 cycles (for severe climatic conditions performance can be improved).

Advantages of Lego bricks:

  • The benefits are visible even to non-professionals. Due to the presence of grooves, laying them is faster and easier. The existing holes can be used for wiring. The weight of Lego bricks is less than other types.
  • Making Lego bricks does not require firing, which greatly reduces the cost. Instead of firing, strong pressing is used, which imparts strength. Has not only different color and shades of colors, but also a varied texture.
  • Thanks to hyper-pressing, this brick can be classified as a type artificial stone. It can be successfully used for cladding a building. And the high strength allows you to lay out not only partitions, but also load-bearing walls.
  • Laying Lego bricks does not require special skills; it is enough to lay out the first layer correctly, and then the process will proceed quite quickly. After all, due to the existing grooves and tenons, they fit together perfectly. The layers are joined not with a traditional solution, but with the use of a special glue, which can be applied with a brush or roller. Using glue will not only reduce costs, but also does not require much physical activity as in cooking cement mortar. And the wall will look aesthetically pleasing.

There are 500 bricks in one cube. To assemble 1 cube of Lego bricks you need 15 kg. tile adhesive for exterior use.

Lego brick production and equipment.

Before starting the cultivation of Lego bricks, it is necessary to adequately assess all the disadvantages and advantages of this method, as well as study all the expenses and costs. It is necessary to realize the full scale of future production, since this industry requires large areas for production. But this is the case when the conversation is about business.

If you make it yourself, you will need to calculate the profitability and decide what will be easier - make it yourself or order it from production.

According to the classical scheme, the ratio of elements in the brick composition is as follows:

  • Sand – 10%
  • Dropout – 70%
  • Cement (M500) – 20%

From 1 ton of this mixture you will get approximately 290 Lego bricks. Costs will depend on the price of materials in your locality. Equipment for making Lego bricks is available in large quantities at construction market CIS.

Equipment for making Lego bricks at home.

To start working, it is enough to purchase a machine (hyperpress), an industrial mixer and other things - molds (matrices), pallets, shovels, etc.

The cost of equipment for brick production depends on productivity:

  • machines with low productivity up to 1000 pieces per shift (manual or low power) - 90-300 thousand rubles;
  • middle class - about 2000 bricks per shift, price from 350 thousand rubles;
  • industrial equipment or a mini plant make it possible to produce more than 750 pieces per hour, but the cost is high - from 2 million rubles.

The brick machine consists of the following parts:

  • bunker for bulk materials;
  • dispenser;
  • matrix for forming Lego bricks;
  • pump;
  • press;
  • bed;
  • electric motor (not available in manual units).

Do-it-yourself Lego brick machine.

You can make a machine for creating Lego bricks yourself. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare certain materials that will become the basis for the machine.

These include:

  • channel;
  • sheet steel;
  • metal corner;
  • pipe for creating a handle and piston;
  • bolts and nuts.

You will also need a tool. At the very least, a grinder and welding machine. The cylinder posts must be made from channel sections, the length of which is approximately 1 m. The width of the cylinder will correspond to the length of the brick being made. Between the racks in the upper part it is necessary to weld two metal rectangles, which will form a cross-section.

A channel is attached to the resulting structure, the length of which is approximately 0.7 m. It must be positioned with the ribs up. It should be welded on one side, and under the protruding part it should be fastened with supports. After this, a hole is cut above the cylinder, corresponding to its perimeter. The bunker will be welded from metal sheet. It is important that its width and length fully correspond to the dimensions of the final form. The hopper is mounted on 4 legs, the basis of which will be strips of metal welded to the protruding part of the channel. The piston is made from a metal sheet. Two pipes must pass through this rectangle.

From a piece of pipe and metal strips we make a handle with which the lid will open and close. The handle is secured with long bolts. The corner will be needed to make a base for the machine. Homemade machine will allow you to make two types of bricks yourself. It can be either Lego with holes or solid. There is no need to make a matrix. It is much wiser to purchase a ready-made one.

Necessary raw materials for making Lego bricks.

To produce this material, environmentally friendly substances are used. All components are widely used and available. There is no exact recipe for preparing raw materials - the ratio of ingredients depends on the required density and quality.

One of the mixture composition options:

  • filler – screening of crushed limestone (up to 90%);
  • binder – cement (7-15%);
  • water (up to 5%);
  • plasticizers;
  • dyes.

Comparison of technical characteristics of Lego bricks versus classic ones.

On the Internet you can find many opponents of Lego technology, leaving negative reviews. But take a closer look - basically all the shortcomings of Lego bricks are far-fetched and have nothing to do with practice. Most likely, these are the same professionals who are terribly upset about the reduction in prices and the arrival of new people in their business. Let's compare a Lego brick with its regular fired counterpart in terms of basic technical indicators.

Data taken from open sources. We took the strength of the brick as a starting point. It may vary depending on the production technology. M150 is the recommended minimum strength for the construction of load-bearing structures.

Conclusion.

Currently, Lego bricks are considered as a new generation material. They are still treated with interest and caution. But increasingly, Lego (brick) receives feedback from builders positive character due to the quality of the material and ease of installation, as well as favorable prices, practicality and impeccable appearance. And these are quite weighty arguments.

Lego brick - innovative construction material having a specific shape. It is this that is its main advantage and allows for quick laying. Due to its properties, this building material is quickly gaining popularity.

Lego brick is an improved version of regular brick. It is used for the rapid construction of various buildings.

Lego brick is an advanced building stone that can be used to quickly and efficiently build a variety of objects. Thanks to the presence of voids and recesses, building with it is easy and simple.

The wall is laid according to the type of assembly of a designer, so any owner can cope with this task. This will allow you to significantly save on the services of professional builders. You can master the masonry process by building a Lego fence yourself.

  • length 25 cm;
  • width 12.5 cm;
  • height 4.5-8 cm;
  • weight depends on the type of mixture used and ranges from 3-4 kg;
  • strength 100-200 kg/cm²;
  • frost resistance of at least 200 freeze-thaw cycles;
  • density 1550 kg/m³;
  • strength grade M100-M200.

These construction products suitable for construction load-bearing walls and partitions, the strength of the masonry is superior to ceramic analogues. Lego brick house is different high performance seismic resistance.

The only drawback of this material is that it has not yet stood the test of time. However, its composition and manufacturing method suggest that it will withstand it with dignity.

Organization of Lego brick production

In order to start producing Lego bricks, you will need special equipment. The market offers several types of small-sized machines that allow you to start your own business.

This type of activity will not require substantial initial investments in renting premises and purchasing equipment. Production ceramic bricks can be organized in the garage or at the dacha.

Manufacturers offer the following models of machines for making bricks:

  1. UGP 410 "Lego 4". This equipment makes it possible to produce Lego bricks using the pressing method. The machine is small-sized. Its dimensions (LxWxH): 100x60x160 cm. Therefore, it is not required for work large premises. The production time for 1 brick is 20 seconds. One product can be made in one production cycle. 1-2 people can handle servicing the machine.

  2. UGP 525 "Lego 5 Auto". Auto line machines are equipped with a set of control equipment: a cycle counter, a press operation sensor, a mixture control sensor in the hopper, temperature and pressure sensors. This brick making machine works on the principle of vibration pressing. Equipment dimensions (LxWxH): 110x90x190 cm. Despite the simplicity of this machine, it is capable of producing products whose quality and shape meet all requirements.
  3. Lego 120. This one manual machine the most inexpensive, since it does not belong to the category of automated equipment. The production of building stones is carried out on it mechanically using a lever drive. This machine for Lego bricks weighs 90 kg, dimensions - 160x50x110 cm. Capacity - 120 pcs. at one o'clock. 1-3 people are needed for maintenance.

In addition to the machine it is necessary auxiliary equipment: vibrating sieve and belt conveyor. They will help significantly reduce the need manual labor, facilitate and speed up the process of manufacturing and storing manufactured products.

However, it is desirable to have this equipment for brick production, but not required. If we consider brick production as a business, then the automation process is extremely important. But at first, you can get by with buying one machine.

If you decide to start a highly profitable business, it is recommended to purchase a complex such as a brick production line. This is a real mini-factory, equipped with all the necessary equipment for automation and control. Thus, the “Standard” production line of the ZiegelMasch company allows the production of up to 3.5 thousand products per shift.

Such equipment for the production of bricks is quite expensive, but it also pays for itself quickly: the demand for these building materials is growing every day.

The package includes a press with a capacity of 60 tons, allowing the production of products High Quality. Therefore, there will be no problems with product certification.

Composition of mixtures for Lego bricks

Technical characteristics of any building stone 80-90% depend on the type and quality of the mixture from which it is made.

No matter how good a machine for producing Lego bricks is, it will not be able to fully provide the product with the necessary strength and durability. These indicators directly depend on the complex of materials that will be placed in the bunker. The press will only form them into a product of the required dimensions.

The composition of the mixture for making Lego bricks includes:

  1. Portland cement grade not lower than M400.
  2. Sand.
  3. Water.
  4. Aggregate.

The choice of the latter is very wide. You can use the material that is easiest to obtain. You can set the following:

  • marble screening;
  • limestone;
  • lime screenings or grits;
  • shell rock;
  • crushed stone;
  • gravel.

Let's look at mixtures for Lego bricks.

Option #1:

  • cement M500 9%;
  • screening of fine limestone (0-5 mm) 85%;
  • limestone grains 30%;
  • pigments 10%;
  • ash 30%.

Option #2:

  • cement M400 315 kg;
  • crushed stone of small or medium fraction 690 kg;
  • sand 825 kg;
  • water 92 l.

Option #3:

  • clay 80-90% of the total composition;
  • cement 10-20%;
  • water.

Option #4:

  • sand 35%;
  • clay 55%;
  • cement 10%;
  • water.

Learning to prepare a high-quality mixture is not easy. Most manufacturers go through trial and error, since much depends on the quality of the cement and the type of filler. More experienced entrepreneurs share their best practices, which help newcomers quickly master production. The recommendations are as follows:

  • machines with a press pressure of less than 30 tons cannot provide high-quality appearance and the shape of a brick, which is based on a large amount of fireclay clay;
  • products of the highest possible strength are obtained from mixtures that include crushed stone;
  • To ensure the product has high frost resistance and moisture resistance, the mixture should contain as little clay as possible.

What else is required to produce Lego bricks?

An important piece of equipment is the matrix. It is a metal fixture that is the heart of the press. It is this that provides the product with the desired shape and directly affects the characteristics of the product. The Lego matrix can be purchased along with the machine or purchased separately. Without a matrix, the technology for producing Lego bricks cannot be followed.

Matrices are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the standards. For single bricks, the dimensions of the equipment are 250x120x65 mm, for one-and-a-half bricks - 250x120x88 mm, for double bricks - 250x120x140 mm. Each of these matrices has holes and protrusions, which are a feature of Lego bricks.

Despite the apparent complexity of manufacturing these products, setting them up is quite simple. Maintenance of the machines does not require a large team of workers. The cost of production is very low, which allows you to get high profits.

LEGO bricks are available in several types; their sizes depend on the molding zone of the vibration press and the type of matrix used in production.

Basic dimensions of a LEGO brick

Basic dimensions of a LEGO brick

(function(w, d, n, s, t) ( w[n] = w[n] || ; w[n].push(function() ( Ya.Context.AdvManager.render(( blockId: "R-A -388243-5", renderTo: "yandex_rtb_R-A-388243-5", async: true )); )); t = d.getElementsByTagName("script"); s = d.createElement("script"); s .type = "text/javascript"; s.src = "//an.yandex.ru/system/context.js"; s.async = true; , this.document, "yandexContextAsyncCallbacks");

The usual dimensions of LEGO bricks are 250 x 125 x 65mm. The standard product has 2 holes with a diameter of 65mm, they are located at a distance of 60mm from each other. The main advantage of the product is the simplicity of masonry, which is carried out on the principle of connecting holes with tenons protruding from the front of the brick. The height of these tenons must be exactly 5mm, otherwise it will be impossible to realize the masonry concept that provides the performance benefits of the product.

(function(w, d, n, s, t) ( w[n] = w[n] || ; w[n].push(function() ( Ya.Context.AdvManager.render(( blockId: "R-A -388243-6", renderTo: "yandex_rtb_R-A-388243-6", async: true )); )); t = d.getElementsByTagName("script"); s = d.createElement("script"); s .type = "text/javascript"; s.src = "//an.yandex.ru/system/context.js"; s.async = true; , this.document, "yandexContextAsyncCallbacks");

Precise masonry, possible with correct location holes relative to the side edges. The distance from the edge to the center of the hole on the outside should be 30mm, which will allow the bricks to be laid in even rows. The corners of the brick have a size of 15mm; if the figure is larger, then the product loses its aesthetic appeal. The indicated dimensions of LEGO bricks are relevant only for a standard product, however, there are many other types on the market, mainly manufactured with imported matrices.

Thickened and elongated bricks

The most popular dies (press LY1-10):

  • SHAFT MASSIVE;
  • MODULAR MASSIVE;
  • CONVENTIONAL MASSIWE.

Using these matrices, bricks of different shapes are made, but they all have the same size - 250x125x100mm. Such products are slightly higher than standard samples produced at domestic equipment, therefore, to complete the masonry you need less bricks, and this is direct savings. There are samples with a size of 300x150x100, but such products do not have holes; in the center they have a depression along the entire length, a groove protrudes on one side, and a tenon on the other.

Possible dimensional deviations during production

The dimensions of LEGO bricks are of decisive importance for manufacturers; by expanding the range, they increase the competitiveness of products, as they provide consumers more options for construction. The main task of the manufacturer is the correct adjustment of the machine, on which the uniformity of the brick geometry depends. The thickness of the product on one side may be 1.5 - 2 mm less. This can be corrected by using adjusting bolts equipped with support nuts. By correctly adjusting the machine, you can produce bricks of the required size.

(function(w, d, n, s, t) ( w[n] = w[n] || ; w[n].push(function() ( Ya.Context.AdvManager.render(( blockId: "R-A -388243-8", renderTo: "yandex_rtb_R-A-388243-8", async: true )); )); t = d.getElementsByTagName("script"); s = d.createElement("script"); s .type = "text/javascript"; s.src = "//an.yandex.ru/system/context.js"; s.async = true; , this.document, "yandexContextAsyncCallbacks");

(function(w, d, n, s, t) ( w[n] = w[n] || ; w[n].push(function() ( Ya.Context.AdvManager.render(( blockId: "R-A -388243-1", renderTo: "yandex_rtb_R-A-388243-1", async: true )); )); t = d.getElementsByTagName("script"); s = d.createElement("script"); s .type = "text/javascript"; s.src = "//an.yandex.ru/system/context.js"; s.async = true; , this.document, "yandexContextAsyncCallbacks");

Lego bricks are easy to lay and can use channels when laying engineering communications. Many people are attracted by the fact that there is no need to plaster the walls due to the high decorative properties Lego bricks. This brick quickly pays for itself due to its low cost, which makes it profitable both during construction and when making bricks for sale. No special skills or education are required to operate the machine, but it can produce at least a thousand Lego bricks in one day. This is not only, but also the possibility of producing building material for personal purposes.

All of the above reasons lead to the growing popularity of Lego bricks. It also has disadvantages. The main thing is the lack of experience in working with this building material among developers, as well as the low awareness of the population about the product new technology. At the same time, there is a problem of the lack of GOST standards. The last point is especially alarming for buyers, since the quality of the product can vary greatly depending on the various manufacturers. For this reason, it is worthwhile to first read reviews about a particular manufacturer before placing a large order.

When starting your own business, it is important to do this in advance. The obtained figures will help you decide whether you can afford to buy a complete production line, just basic equipment, or whether it is worth creating a machine for producing Lego bricks with your own hands in order to save money when starting a business.

Equipment for the production of Lego bricks - price

To produce Lego bricks for commercial purposes or to meet the need for this type of building material, you will need to purchase the appropriate equipment. Release machines can be divided into two types: manual and electric. The former do not require additional costs from the owners, however, they are less productive.

Machines whose productivity is not very high (production of about 1 thousand units per shift) can be purchased for 78-300 thousand rubles. If we talk about medium-power machines (approximately 2 thousand pieces during a working day), then they can be purchased for 350 thousand rubles. The equipment, which can be classified as a mini-factory or industrial-level machines, is capable of producing about 750 bricks within one hour. The cost of such devices is more than 2 million rubles.

To organize the production of small volumes, you will need a machine weighing 750 kg. Thus, when creating your own Lego brick production, it is worth choosing a suitable premises. The dimensions of a low-productivity machine are: width - 1 m, height - 2 m, and length - 1.5 m. To ensure the operation of one such machine will be enough small area. At the same time, when purchasing more productive equipment You should initially worry about ensuring free space. The same applies to business. Over time, the premises will have to be expanded to accommodate new machines.

Advice: When buying a machine for making Lego bricks, pay attention to the number of operating cycles that it can withstand without the need for repairs. Manual ones usually withstand about 500 thousand cycles, while electric ones are more durable in this regard - about 0.6-1 million cycles.

An important parameter is the amount of time that needs to be spent on producing one brick. On average, this will take 15-30 seconds. In addition, it is important to estimate exactly how many bricks can be produced in one cycle. The more a machine can produce at a time, the faster the cost of purchasing it will pay off.

The strength of a brick depends on the pressure applied during its creation. Some machines have a capacity of 2 tons, which is completely insufficient for the construction of a number of buildings. To obtain a brick that can be used in laying load-bearing walls, it is necessary to create a pressure of approximately 30 tons or more.

Today Russian manufacturers were able to take their place in the segment of production of machines for Lego bricks, displacing almost all importers of similar equipment. This is a fairly rare case, since it is often cheaper to order delivery. Part large companies Typically used to create large batches within a short period of time. Swiss steel is usually used for production. All products from foreign suppliers can be evaluated remotely, since reviews are often left on them, which highlight both positive and negative aspects. One thing is invariable - their cost is several times higher than domestically produced machines.

Lego brick production technology

The Lego brick production technology includes several stages. The dry mixture is supplied to a special bunker. Using a dispenser, a strictly established volume of the mixture is sent to a special chamber, which will become the basis for a new brick. A matrix is installed in the chamber, on which the number of bricks created after pressure treatment depends. In general, the design may vary depending on the manufacturer.

During high pressure treatment, the mixture is “sintered” with water and cement. This method is called " cold welding" After opening the press, the platform with the products installed on it moves up. The worker gets the opportunity to use ready brick, and also place it immediately on the tray to ensure further steaming or drying. The resulting Lego brick must be left for several days in warehouse so that it gains strength. The drying time depends on the type of machine, the composition of the mixture, and the dimensions of the product.

Additionally, to organize a high-performance mini-factory, you will need a mixer to reduce the cost of producing Lego bricks. In case of purchase ready mixture the consumable part is significantly higher than when producing it yourself. The mixer must have durable blades, and their number must be at least 4. In addition, you will need a transport tape, through which the mixture will be delivered to the bunker. At the initial stage, you can reduce costs by loading manually, but this will require quite a lot of labor.

Advice: Most machines require a small number of operating personnel. In many cases, just one person can handle the entire job. To increase productivity, you will need to attract two or three workers. One can be put to work with the machine, the rest to control the supply of the mixture, filling the hopper, etc.

It’s worth getting pallets in advance for placing lots of Lego bricks. To fill the raw materials, you will need shovels that are resistant to abrasives. When the coating wears off and particles get into the mixer, a technological problem may arise, due to which defects will appear in the Lego brick caused by changes chemical composition. Special brushes are useful for cleaning equipment between production cycles.

Lego brick - mixture composition

To make a Lego brick, you need to understand that the share of filler in the mixture reaches 80-92% of its total mass. For this role, screenings from crushed limestone are most often selected. For the binding part, cement or Portland cement is used, the mass fraction of which is set at 8-10%. In addition, pigmenting elements will be required that will allow you to change the color of the brick. As a rule, products are produced in black, yellow, brown, and red.

Advice: It is worth noting that perfect recipes there is no Lego for bricks, however, in the instructions for the machine you can find several recipes that are recommended by the manufacturer specifically for a specific model of the machine.

The use of plasticizers is not mandatory, however, Lego bricks that are made using it are characterized by higher density and strength. In addition, the structure becomes more uniform and the surface smoother.

Cost of Lego bricks

To calculate the cost of one Lego brick, you need to calculate the costs of equipment, reducing them to a unit of manufactured products, based on the passport values for the number of cycles of use without repair. In addition, take into account the costs of raw materials and electricity, as well as wages of hired workers and the profit of the entrepreneur.

Based on practice and reviews from machine owners, the cost is about 4-6 rubles per brick. At the same time, the market often offers to purchase the corresponding products for 11-12 rubles. With such a retail markup, the payback for the equipment is about 1 year. To expand the range you can purchase. Many builders perform complex work, including in the project package Finishing work. Considering that not everyone trusts the new technology, you can create in parallel. Thus, it will be possible to reach a wider audience and increase the number of buyers.

Lego brick - weight

It is necessary to talk about the weight of a brick based on knowledge of its composition and processing conditions. On average, we can talk about a weight of 3-3.5 kg. This allows you to achieve strength characteristics M150, which makes it possible to use Lego bricks in the construction of partitions and load-bearing walls of house construction. Average frost resistance makes it possible to operate raw materials for 35-40 shift cycles temperature regime. When stored, there are about 500 bricks per cubic meter, the density of which is approximately 1.55 tons per cubic meter. Adjustment of the recipe leads to a change technical characteristics bricks

Lego brick - dimensions

The size of a Lego brick may vary depending on the manufacturing technology, its composition, and storage conditions during the first time after production. Standard size for this product is 250x125x65 mm with a hole diameter of 50-65 mm.

Advice: It is worth noting that due to technological features creating Lego bricks, it does not have high thermal insulation qualities. It is worthwhile to provide for wall insulation in advance. Mineral wool or expanded clay filler for void spaces in double masonry walls will help with this.

Do-it-yourself Lego brick machine

You can make a machine for creating Lego bricks yourself. Before starting work, it is necessary to prepare certain materials that will become the basis for the machine. These include:

  • channel;
  • sheet steel;
  • metal corner;
  • pipe for creating a handle and piston;
  • bolts and nuts.

You will also need a tool. At the very least, a grinder and a welding machine will be useful.

The bunker will be welded from sheet metal.

A homemade machine will allow you to make two types of bricks yourself. It can be either Lego with holes or solid. There is no need to make a matrix. It is much wiser to purchase a ready-made one.

Lego bricks are actively distributed on the market today, but consumer confidence in them is low due to little operating experience. It is difficult to say how long a house made of this material will last, since it active use started relatively recently. Today there are a number of reviews from builders who used machines to make this brick. Many people emphasize that this is quite simple, but at the same time, some focus on the low thermal insulation qualities of brick.

A number of manufacturers especially note the rapid payback of the production line. Some reviews indicate values of 6-7 months due to the organization of work on a large scale and projects that require a large amount of bricks for construction. The line can be assembled at a cost of about 700 thousand rubles. It is worth noting that the payback period is also affected by the organization of work from the point of view of legislation. It is important to understand which ones exist so that you do not have to give all the profits to government agencies.

For successful sales, it is recommended to use a large warehouse, since it is a solid stock of the product that attracts a large buyer. Many builders do not risk using Lego bricks to create houses, but they willingly purchase them for building fences.

The production of Lego bricks (the so-called new building material) is increasing every year. This type of building material for walls does not require firing, which means that its production can be started at home by purchasing necessary equipment and technology. According to experts in the construction market, Lego brick is confidently expanding its niche, attracting more and more new fans.

Why Lego?

The name of the wall material comes from the popular children's construction set. Brick, or block, although bigger size, looks very similar to the details of a construction set from Lego.

In the production of this material, hyper-pressing of the finished mixture is used, consisting of screenings of limestone rocks, Portland cement and water. The main composition of Lego bricks comes in two types: cement-clay and cement-clay-sand.

Products made using this technology have special grooves, which speeds up the construction of building walls or fences.

In the construction market, Lego bricks are classified according to different parameters. According to the size of technological holes:

  • hollow model (holes occupy 25% or more of its area);
  • full-bodied model (it has a hole area of less than 25%).

By type of lock connection:

  • limitation in 2 directions - horizontally and transversely;
  • limitation only in the transverse direction.

By appearance:

  • smooth front side;
  • textured.

Classification according to the type of connection of bricks in masonry:

  • T&G (groove and tongue);
  • P&D (protrusion and recess);
  • topological lock.

Most of the Lego products are produced with locks in the first two positions. When making Lego bricks used in high-rise housing construction, a sand-cement composition is used in a ratio of 1:10.

Production process and mixture composition

IN production process The following manufacturing technology is used:

  • crushing and sifting mixture components;
  • dosage and mixing of the components included in the solution;
  • molding;
  • high pressure pressing.

Enterprises producing Lego bricks use the following compositions for their production.

  1. Cement + clay. The percentage content is expressed as follows: 80-90% clay, 10% cement, 3% water.
  2. Cement + clay + sand. The components are mixed in the following quantities: 50-60% sand, 30-40% clay, 10% cement, 3% water.
  3. Elimination of sawing limestone - 75-80%, Portland cement - about 15% and water.

A mixture based on limestone is considered to be of the highest quality; products made from it are used for the construction of load-bearing walls.

For Russian climatic conditions, mixtures of crushed stone screenings with dyes and cement in a proportion of 8-20% are more suitable. The mixture is pressed under high pressure to produce high quality blocks.

The mixture for Lego bricks also includes the following materials:

  • pigments;
  • plasticizers.

Pigments are used to give products different color shades, which improves their appearance. To make Lego bricks used in the construction of buildings with increased requirements for moisture permeability, plasticizers are added.

Advantages and disadvantages of the material

The advantages of the material include:

  • production of bricks without firing;
  • increased productivity when laying walls;
  • beautiful appearance;
  • accuracy and simplicity of masonry;
  • lighter weight of products, which reduces the load on the mason;
  • the ability to use through holes in the blocks for communications;
  • high frost resistance, the material tolerates 30 freezing cycles;
  • good wear resistance, absence of cracks and chips, which reduces the percentage of waste;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • fire resistance;
  • high moisture resistance;
  • using special glue when laying walls, which is much cheaper than cement-sand mortar;
  • variety of shades and textures;
  • a perfectly smooth surface of the material is the basis for equally smooth walls;
  • saving money by using glue as a binder.

With such an impressive list of advantages, Lego bricks also have disadvantages. The following can be distinguished:

  • relatively low coefficient heat saving;
  • the use of expensive dies made of high-quality steel;
  • high sorption humidity of the material.

To obtain high-quality Lego bricks, the composition of the mixture should be formed according to the pressure of the press available in the production. For soft limestone rocks minimum pressure must be at least 170 kg/cm².

Production equipment

Basic equipment for the production of Lego bricks - special machines. They can be manual (for making bricks at home) and high-performance electric, the purchase of which allows you to open a medium-sized business.

Machine classification:

  1. Do-it-yourself Lego brick making machine. Capacity 1000 pcs. per shift. They are manual and electrically driven.
  2. Machines for individual production of the middle category. They produce 2,000 Lego bricks per shift.
  3. Mini-factories and machines for industrial production with a productivity of 750 pieces per hour.

Quality machines for small business must withstand up to 500,000 operating cycles, industrial mini-factories can withstand an operating range of 600,000 - 1,000,000 cycles.

The average time to produce one product is 15-30 seconds. In one cycle, 6-8 units of goods can be produced, which speeds up the payback of the equipment. Lego blocks for partitions are formed under a pressure of 2 tons. If they are produced under a pressure of 30 tons or more, then this material is suitable for laying load-bearing walls.

Material manufacturing technology

The main advantage of producing Lego material for walls is that there is no need to fire bricks, which means there is no need to build a bulky oven and carry out a dangerous firing process. Often on the Internet you can come across a question about how to make a high-quality Lego block, or requests to describe in detail what the technology for producing Lego bricks is.

For reference technological process production wall material In addition to machines, they also use the following equipment:

  • crushers and screening sieves connected into one common unit;
  • a working mixture preparation department, consisting of bins for mixing all those ingredients from which Lego products are made;
  • for various purposes conveyors and conveyor belts;
  • pallets and electric vehicles for packaging and transportation of finished products.

During the production process, shovels, containers for various purposes, brushes, propylene tapes and special clamps are used for packaging the finished material.

Each type of block is made using a separate matrix. The material for it is high-quality steel grade 40 ХН. This is due to the fact that the matrix, along with its contents, is exposed to high pressure. It, like the mixture, goes through at least 500,000 working cycles. Low-quality material quickly fails under such loads.
