Ideas for home and garden (59 photos): design of furniture, fences, ponds. Fabulous decor and sports area. How to equip a country house on a budget How to beautifully arrange a plot in a country house

Development land plot always starts with a plan. Rational use And decoration development of a personal plot are possible only as a result of its correct and thoughtful planning, taking into account natural, climatic, local, national and everyday characteristics. In this article we will tell you how to decorate personal plot with our own hands in the village from scrap materials, we will give video and photo instructions for design.

How smaller area site, the more carefully you need to plan it and think through the design details.

Relief

When placing elements of the estate and choosing plantings, it is necessary to take into account the location of the place relative to the sides of the horizon, prevailing winds, the condition of the soil and ground, as well as its topography. Natural relief does not always and fully satisfy planning requirements; in such cases, it is recommended to carry out vertical planning.

For small elevation differences (up to 5%) excavation are not produced, leaving the natural relief, and the house is built with a basement or ground floor or they only level the site for building a house.

In areas with a steep slope (8-12%), the situation can be corrected by terracing the area across the slope, and the steeper the slope, the more terraces are needed. Stairs are installed between the terraces, and the surfaces of the terraces are connected by retaining walls. As a rule, for small slopes with clayey and sandy loam soils the steepness is 1:1.5, for sandy soils - 1:2, that is, a slope 1 m high occupies a strip of land 1.5 or 2 m.

Fence

In addition to their direct functional purpose, fences also play a decorative role, so the arrangement of a personal plot can begin with the installation of barriers. It is better to make the outer fence human height or slightly taller, and the inner fences can be installed with a height of 30 cm to 1 m. The fence consists of posts and sheathing; the materials for the fence can be different.

In addition, the fences can be made in the form of a hedge, planting it in two rows, between which stretch a low metal mesh. After 2 years, the bushes will grow into it and make it invisible.

Good for green fencing different kinds hawthorns, thuja, Japanese quince and others. Trim the bush in the second year. Hedges are formed by side and top trimming, which is carried out 2 times a year.

We invite you to watch a video about alternative hedge devices.

When designing a personal plot, special attention should be paid to paths. Their correct and beautiful layout plays important role in improvement and decorative design. The general pattern of the paths can be geometrically strict or free. There is a direct connection between the paths, the relief and the shape of the site.

First, marking is carried out - straight sections of the paths are marked using a cord, the ends tied to pegs, and curved sections - using one peg as the center of the circle, and the other as the leg of the compass. It is easy to draw smooth curves on the ground by changing the length of the cord and the location of the center.

If you want to lay paths with artificial turf, you need to carry out preparatory work. Along the marking lines, the turf is cut to a depth of 15-20 cm and removed so that a small elevation remains along the central axis so that rainwater flowed to the edges. This place prepared for covering is called a “trough”.

Paths can be made:

Ground - along the stretched cord, use a shovel to cut the edges of the path to a depth of 10 cm. This layer of earth is removed, and the cut area is rolled with a hand roller.

For such paths you only need to sow lawn or white clover. This is exactly how many people design the driveway to the garage, paved with two lanes for the wheels. paving slabs.

Gravel - a layer of 7 cm of coarse gravel (4-6 cm) is placed at the bottom of the “trough”, after rolling it - another layer of 5 cm of finer gravel (2-3 cm), and then a layer of sand mixed with clay (1:3 ) 1-2 cm thick, which is compacted well, while watering it with water for better shrinkage. Lastly, another layer of 2 cm of fine gravel is laid, which is also watered and compacted.

Perhaps the most aesthetic type of paths, because such tiles can be of any shape and color and fit perfectly into the design. A dry mixture of sifted sand and cement (4:1) is poured onto the “trough”, and then placed one at a time concrete tiles, which is leveled and compacted in level using rubber mallet. Laying paving slabs is not difficult.

Wooden end paving - effective and very economical, since wooden “rounds” can be cut yourself. To make such paths, tree trunks various sizes they are treated with an antiseptic (bitumen, drying oil), and then sawed into equal sections of 10-15 cm. Such logs are placed on a layer of sand of 10 cm. Small ones are placed in the space between the large ends, and the remaining voids are filled with sand.

From monolithic concrete - for such paths, formwork is prepared, which is filled with plastic concrete with fine gravel, prepared at the rate of: 1 part cement, 2 parts sand and 3 parts gravel.

And a few more photos of various paths for a summer cottage:

We invite you to watch this video dedicated to the arrangement of paths.

Front garden and green lawn

When doing work such as landscaping a personal plot , you can quite simply make it beautiful, clean and elegant by sowing the free space with lawn grass. Such lawns provide places for relaxation, picnics and sports games.

Also lawn grass You can also sow in the front garden in front of the house, where they look good small trees or shrubs planted in groups. In this case, the most tall trees or shrubs are planted in the center of the group, and lower ones - along the edges.

When planting flowering shrubs in the front garden, their color scheme is taken into account - plants with white, yellow, orange flowers, and at a greater distance, near the paths - with red, purple, blue and dark or red-leaved bushes.

The physiological and psychological impact flowers and their smells on the human body. Decoration of a personal plot - color compositions are compiled according to the following design rules:

  • compliance with color ratio. Red - green, purple - yellow, blue - orange - such combinations create contrasting and emotionally effective relationships. The color combinations are soft and harmonious: red - yellow, red - blue, violet - orange, violet - green, blue - yellow. White color goes with all colors. When creating flower beds, you need to remember that in well-lit, sunny places flowers of warm, soft and harmonious tones are placed, and in shaded places - contrasting ones.
  • continuous flowering if possible. To do this you need to select flowers from at different times flowering. So, in April snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, and tulips bloom; in May - forget-me-not, lily of the valley, violet, iris, lily, peony; throughout the summer - gladiolus, phlox, purple dicentra, poppy, bell, delphinium; in September - aster, goldenrod, dahlias; in October - chrysanthemums. Roses have a long flowering period - from May to September.

Flowerbeds are arranged in the front garden, on recreation areas, rocky hills, slopes, terraces, and near a pond. The background for the flowers is a green lawn, stones, house walls, and tree trunks. When planting flowers in a flowerbed, you need to take into account that flowers of the same type, but of different colors, look very beautiful together. Variegated mixtures of tones are undesirable. A flowerbed does not become beautiful because there are many types of flowers on it. It is not the quantity that is important, but the harmony between colors. Another rule for arranging a flower garden is that the further the flowers are planted from the path, the larger the color spot can be and the higher the flowers themselves.

When choosing flowers, it is necessary to take into account their requirements for soil and light, the growing season, resistance to wind, time and period of flowering, decorativeness, plant height, etc.

Roses occupy a special place in the landscaping of the site. Almost continuous flowering and a wide variety of colors put the rose in first place in the decorative design of the site. Roses are planted in a sunny, bright place, protected from the wind. Climbing roses are planted on the south side of the house. The perfect background for these flowers is a green lawn, coniferous trees, stones of retaining walls and terraces.

Alpine slide

The design of a personal plot is often complemented by a design solution such as a rock garden or an alpine slide. This decorative composition, made of low-growing shrubs, flowers and stones, where the latter form the basis of the slide.

It is better to select stones of the same type, the largest ones weighing about 30 kg.

A pit with a depth of 30-40 cm is dug along the intended contour. On heavy clay soils, its bottom is covered with a layer of gravel of 10-15 cm, and on waterlogged soils it is increased to 20-25 cm. After this, fertile soil is poured into the pit above the level of the surrounding soil by 40-60 cm, and then lay out and install the stones, trying to achieve maximum naturalness of their placement. Spaces of varying sizes are left between the stones for planting.

For the alpine slide, short and creeping plants with brightly colored flowers, leaves or fruits. In this case, it must be included and coniferous species(creeping juniper, dwarf thuja, conical spruce) - they enrich the colorful flavor in spring and autumn. Correct selection plants provides decorative effect alpine hill not only during the growing season, but also in winter. From deciduous shrubs you can choose purple-leaved barberry, periwinkle, heather, hydrangea, honeysuckle, ivy, rhododendron, boxwood. Among the flowers, the rock garden will be decorated with pinnate carnation, creeping St. John's wort, goldenrod, iris, bellflower, crocus, and primrose.

Intensely colored flowers are planted in the center of the composition. It is better to plant flowers in groups or individually, but not scatter them all over the hill.

When arranging your garden plot yourself, you can also consider installing a small pond for decorative purposes. Such a small pool can be made from concrete ring, which is dug in 5 cm below ground level. A 20 cm layer of crushed stone is placed at the bottom, compacted while pouring water, then filled with cement mortar (1:3). Paving slabs are laid along the upper perimeter of the ring, and the joints are sealed with mortar. You can plant water lilies, irises, and reeds in it. Caring for such a reservoir involves changing the water.

A small swimming pool with communications can be made by separately concreteing its bottom and walls, which are reinforced with reinforcement. In order for water to flow out of it better, the bottom is tilted to the side. drain pipe, which, in turn, is also installed at an angle. Water from the pool is drained into a general sewer or drainage well, which is installed under drainage in the lowest place. The fill pipe should be slightly higher than the water level in the pool. If you install a spray head, you will get a fountain that looks very attractive.

In the arrangement of a dacha plot, the choice of materials in general and their durability play an important role. If you are the owner brick house, then an ordinary stone will allow you to fence and decorate it at the same time. Building a gazebo is also not difficult, choosing durable wood that is processed during the construction process. Make a built-in grill? - very simple.

Based on the geometry of the land plot, we will consider an alternative placement of the gazebo and the amenities near it necessary for a comfortable stay. Let us clearly evaluate the choice of materials for fencing country house and reflect on the topic of landscape design of the land plot.

Gazebo at the dacha

Taking into account the rectangular shape of the land plot, and the initially planned house, it was decided to build a gazebo on the opposite side in the far right corner of the territory, which made it possible not to clutter the area and in the future, to concentrate on landscaping the garden.

The basis of the gazebo is its pillars, in our case wooden beams, up to 2.5 m long. We dig them into the ground, having previously placed any packaging bag on the deepened part of the timber, this will help to avoid premature rotting of the tree. We install stands in dug holes, 0.4-0.6 m deep, and fill them with a solution of crushed stone and cement. Concreting the pillars increases the stability of the structure as a whole.

Vertical installed beams need to be linked together horizontally, both at the bottom of the gazebo and at the top. We get a frame that will withstand loads and ensure the strength of our structure. Using the same principle, we form the “skeleton” of the roof, the landing angle is at your discretion. Then everything is simpler: we upholster the frame with boards, it is advisable to use larch - a very durable tree, attach the benches to the bars and install the table.

If our choice fell on wooden canvas roof, it is advisable to nail several layers of roofing material on top to avoid leaks in bad weather. All wooden components are generously coated with stain - the gazebo is ready.

It is advisable to place a grill not far from the gazebo: everything is for the convenience of guests. In order not to have to carry a folding one every time, you can use a deep wheel rim from PAZ or ZIL.

These discs hold heat well, and you can install them in the ground after digging required size hole, pour a little mortar with cement and through the holes in wheel rim reinforced with reinforcement bars - we can confidently say that this grill will last a long time, and stealing it is not expected to be an easy task.

Fence and its options

The first idea of constructing a fence for a summer house was adopted in favor of wood: high massive pillars, partitions and a gate made of rough timber, sawn lengthwise in half and strong flexible rods that can be twisted along the fence.

But over time, this structure was exposed to natural influences and began to collapse.

One of the pillars rotted and began to bend the entire fence under the weight, which negated the whole essence of the fence.

It was decided to replace it with a more durable stone fence. The procedure was not simple, since initially it was necessary to build new brick pillars, then install old wooden partitions for their stability, and, in principle, appearance, and then select the material for the new barrier.

The choice fell on stones. We used without going through: those used in saunas, river stone, paving stones. With help cement mortar, one by one we lay them out between the pillars, forming walls.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that when laying stones, they should be fixed to the mortar only if they are initially stable at the site of their future planting. If the stone does not lie stable on its own, you should not try to strengthen it with mortar. This will avoid subsequent deformation during laying, since the stone wall experiences heavy loads under the influence of its weight.

The nuance is that each part of the fence can be laid out in a maximum of three layers (levels), since the stones have different shapes and, before the cement dries completely, they can slide and change their position, which will entail further deformation of the structure. I think the strength and durability of such a fence will not raise any doubts in anyone’s mind; in addition, the originality of the idea gives it an impressive appearance.

Landscape design of a summer cottage

If the territory of the land plot is large, then there is room for imagination on all sides. Our vision was a spacious garden with fruit trees, and a fence of grapes.

We planted decorative firs, which are not picky by nature and do not require regular care. A flowerbed was erected from the same stones, which decorated the barbecue area for relaxing and receiving guests.

The flooring between the roof of the house and the fence posts was grown from the same grapes as the fence in the garden. Naturally, the grass surface of the area needs to be looked after. After mowing the lawn, collect the grass using a rake, for example, which will eliminate sprouting.

Some of the trees can be used as a location for firewood - very unusual and convenient.

Don’t forget about all kinds of flowers that will enliven areas of your territory. There are countless options for improving your garden and there is always something to work on.

Summing up the results

If the arrangement of a summer cottage as a whole is regarded as a hobby mixed with necessity, then the result of your work will be appreciated by both neighbors and guests. Fantasize, learn something new, work hard and reap the fruits of your efforts, surrounded by loved ones who will happily relax at your dacha.

On the banks of the river, our friends purchased an abandoned plot of land, which was a vacant lot covered with bumps and uneven spots, overgrown with bushes and weeds.

Territory arrangement

Four years of hard work allowed us to build country house with all city amenities and turn the surrounding area into a paradise.

House design, its internal structure and landscape design was carried out by the owner of the summer cottage independently. Because country cottage area was created for recreation in the summer, then most of the land was allocated for a green lawn and flower beds.

Only a small part of the land in the far corner behind the house was used to install a greenhouse and beds for growing herbs. Currant bushes and apple and plum trees were also planted.

In order to keep the paths dry and clean in rainy weather, they were paved with paving slabs raised above ground level. As a result, it became possible to walk around the territory of the summer cottage even in slippers.

A wide path is made along the entire length of the dacha from the gate, which ends in a canopy without walls intended for parking a car. A canopy allows you not only to protect your car from precipitation and solar radiation, but also to do household chores under it in rainy weather.

A garage canopy of this design is a good design solution, as it does not obstruct the view and fits well into the overall design summer cottage plot.

The owners of the summer cottage are very hospitable people. Relatives and friends often come to visit them. Thanks to the wide path from the gate, the yard can accommodate up to six cars at once.

Between the fence and the wide path there is a strip of land on which flowers and spruce trees are planted.

Along opposite side paths and a green lawn, there is also a flower bed.

All paths are made of gray and red paving slabs. There is a narrow path leading to the house from the car.

Before front door a spacious country house was built open veranda overlooking the river. There is a table and chairs on it. After visiting the steam room on the veranda on summer evenings, in any weather, it is very pleasant to have dinner with soft drinks and barbecue in the company of friends.

On the summer cottage, before the construction of the house began, a outbuilding, consisting of three separate rooms with doors. The two entrances are equipped with a small common porch with a canopy. One of the rooms has a window overlooking the river. It has a bed with a bedside table for overnight guests. The second room has no windows and serves as a workshop, and the third room stores inventory and tools.

Next to the utility house, opposite the veranda, there is a platform covered with paving slabs for grilling kebabs. There is still room nearby for a mobile garden rocking sofa.

Flower beds and flowerbeds

Looking at the photographs published above, you probably noticed that on almost all of them, even on the smallest plots of land between the paths, flower beds and flower beds were made. The owner of the summer cottage has a fantastic love for flowers, and is ready to deal with them tirelessly from morning to evening, which, by the way, she does in all her free time.

The pride of the owner of a summer cottage is a spacious green lawn. Although it has to be trimmed often, there is still room for the children to run barefoot, play ball games and badminton.

A low fence with a gate in the center separates the dacha plot from the public area. There is a flowerbed in front of the fence, separated from the path by wooden logs. In addition to flowers, the flowerbed contains Christmas trees, each of which is planted in honor of one of the granddaughters and named after them. Children will grow up and watch how spruces grow with them. It will be very interesting for children.

Marigold flowers are planted along the low fence on the river side. On the left side of it, next to the canopy, there is a box with a tight lid for disposal of food waste and garbage of plant origin.

Almost the entire area not occupied by a green lawn, greenhouse and small vegetable garden is planted with spruce trees and flowers.

The corners between the paths are also beautifully decorated with paving slabs. Unobtrusive, but tasteful.

A flower garden in the form of an alpine hill adorns the edge of the grass lawn. Original composition and harmonious combination different colors in combination with boulders and pebbles is admirable. The photo shows a view from the second floor of the country house.

The flowerbed of the alpine hill type is not symmetrical, and when you look at it from different sides, a completely different composition of flowers opens up.

And in this photo, on the site of last year’s alpine slide, a new one has been created, which has larger size and with a different design. For a detailed acquaintance, I decided to present close-up photographs of plants and flowers.

In the photo, the perennial, unpretentious to the soil, sun-loving golden cinquefoil, with beautiful yellow flowers, growing on an alpine hill. The plant is not afraid of frost, and Cinquefoil tea has medicinal properties. Golden cinquefoil usually begins to bloom in the second half of summer.

It is better to plant Heucheras in the shade from conifers or other flowers, so that the rays of the sun fall on it only at sunrise or sunset.

This is another type of coniferous plant. Unfortunately, I don’t know the scientific name of this Christmas tree.

Gray Canadian spruce Conica is native to Canada. Dwarf variety It grows to a height of only one meter in ten years. This is a very beautiful conifer, excellent, just like common spruce, grows in our latitudes.

Scarlet rose or a bouquet is given to express romantic love and passion, a gifted bud of a red rose expresses confusion, a tender attitude will be emphasized by a pale pink bouquet of roses. A dark pink bouquet is usually given as a sign of gratitude.

Astilbe is unpretentious and frost-resistant perennial plant with bright red flowers. There are varieties that bloom in other colors. The flowers can reach a height of 60 cm and rise beautifully above low-growing grass and other flowers.

Petal color combination Pansies tends to infinity. This is one of the most favorite flowers of gardeners.

Cannes are exotic flowers for our latitudes. The flowers are very beautiful, and the petals of one flower can be of different colors. Cannas are excellent flowers for decorating a summer cottage.
