Home interior: how to create a beautiful and harmonious design. Beautiful interiors of country houses Rooms in a country house

The interior design of a private house (the photo illustrates different options) has significant differences compared to the design of a city apartment. In many ways, interior options depend on the size of the house. Naturally, the design inside a private economy-class house has little in common with the landscaping of a luxurious mansion: in the photos above you can trace the fundamental features of the approach.

What are the features of a do-it-yourself design inside a private house, examples of which can be seen in the photos given in the article? First of all, a private house is an isolated structure, in no way connected with the high number of floors or the proximity of common areas.

If the interior of a city apartment practically does not depend on the design of the building itself, then the interior design inside a private house significantly depends on the appearance of the building and the arrangement of the entire site, and photographs clearly show this. For example, an ultra-modern style of interior decor in a wooden log house made in the old Russian style will look completely awkward. In other words, the first feature: the need for a harmonious combination of interior design, as well as landscape design.

An important feature of the future interior design private house - the opportunity to build a house taking into account the intended design. The owner of the house has the opportunity not to adhere to the standard layout, but to show maximum imagination even in real life. initial stage. Can be laid non-standard forms, different levels, terraces, attic, etc.

Thus, even a small private house, as can be seen in the photo, can be laid down at the construction planning stage, the location, shape and size of the premises, which means it becomes possible to implement any ideas.

Finally, the issue of unity with nature should be noted. A private house located on land surrounded by natural or transformed natural landscape, which increases the need to use natural motifs in design. The role of wood and natural stone in design is significantly increasing.

The interior design of a private house is ensured in the following main ways:

  • choosing a single design style;
  • providing the necessary color palette;
  • selection of modern materials for finishing walls, ceilings and floors;
  • selection of appropriate furniture;

  • original arrangement of door and window openings, formation of niches, columns and other architectural elements;
  • use of decoration elements;
  • creation of a special artificial lighting system.

How to use color and contrast effects

One of the effective ways design solution selection of colors is considered. By choosing colors you can lift your mood, induce relaxation and calm. The wrong choice of color can cause irritation and aggressiveness. Of course, each person chooses their favorite color, but there are general approaches and recommendations.

Here it is better to choose neutral pastel shades. Another color is intended to highlight large elements. Here the brightest color is selected. Finally, one or two colors are intended to highlight smaller interior details and accessories: pillows, different decorations and trinkets.

When decorating a living room, you can offer popular and attractive color combinations: bright pink color of large details on a turquoise general background; combination of a gray background, turquoise elements and neon yellow contrast; light blue and grassy green shades.

A rather impressive combination of white and black will shine with new shades when adding elements of blue. Pink and cream colors look great against a generally light background.

One of the options for transforming the interior is a combination of smooth, embossed and textured surfaces. In this case, even a single-color design becomes contrasting and original.

One of the simple combinations is the polished surface of the bedside table and a fur blanket on the bed. IN Scandinavian style

For example, you can use a combination of light-colored curtains and sofa upholstery with armchairs with wicker backs and ottomans with coarse knitted covers. Even one single textural element can significantly enliven the entire interior.

Principles of furniture selection Furniture radically changes the entire design style, and therefore it must be selected in accordance with it. Lightness and airiness are currently welcomed. That is why it is recommended not to clutter the room with furniture, but to place a minimum number of items. IN small spaces

In huge halls, on the contrary, large-sized furniture pieces look better. It should be borne in mind that the combination of large objects and small elements looks most attractive. Installing only large objects leads to an inexpressive perception, just as an excessive number of small things causes irritation with its diversity.

An effective technique in decorating a room is the use of mirrors. This technique is especially important in small rooms, as it visually expands the space. Modern fashion involves the formation of a mirror surface even on the floor, which visually increases the height of the room. The reflection of decorative chandeliers and lamps looks especially beautiful in wall mirrors. Darkened areas of the room are perfectly decorated with a mirror of an unusual configuration.

The importance of lighting

Artificial lighting provides the necessary charm to any interior. First of all, lamps are selected according to their appearance so that they fit into the chosen design style during the daytime.

Depending on the general background, dark, white, golden chandeliers, lamps or sconces are selected. The most important effect is achieved when the lighting equipment is turned on. Using a directed beam of light, you can zone a room.

Lampshades play an important role. Currently, a huge variety of different options are offered both in shape and color. You should decide in advance which style is preferable: classic or modern. In large halls the advantage of large chandeliers is undeniable. Installation spotlights on the ceiling, walls, floor, on dividing lines (and even with multi-colored lighting) can create a real fairy tale inside the house.

The interior design of a private house can be done in different ways, and the specifics of a private house make it possible to realize any fantasies . It is important to consider that this design should be combined with the exterior of the house and the entire landscape design.

I like

The interior of the cottage should be as comfortable and cozy as possible, so that its residents can truly relax and take a break from the noise and everyday life outside the city. The possibility of arranging a large area, the presence of high ceilings, as well as proximity to natural beauty - all this contributes to the use of a creative approach to creating a truly ergonomic space. To decorate the interior of a cottage or country house, you need to follow a number of recommendations, which we will discuss below.

If the interiors of apartments in the city do not always depend on the features of the building, then the design of private houses will depend directly on the design of the building. For example, a design in the Art Nouveau style is unlikely to look harmonious inside wooden log house with traditional elements. In other words, the first recommendation is to maintain harmony between the interior and exterior of a country house.

As for the interior design of the room, we can say about the following nuances:

— Choose a single style for interior decoration;
— Provide the necessary color scheme;
— Select high-quality modern finishing materials;
— Choose pieces of furniture that match the style;
— Use decorative elements and artificial lighting wisely.

All these factors must be taken into account in order to create a beautiful cottage interior.

Color solutions

When decorating any interior, including a country house, it is important to choose the right color schemes. An incorrectly chosen palette can worsen your well-being and reduce productivity. Of course, everything here depends on individual preferences, but there are also general patterns.

Arranging a private home involves using several basic (more than four) shades of those colors that seem most attractive to the owner. But only one color should prevail for wall decoration. It is recommended to give preference to neutral, calm tones, while colorful shades should be used as accents. Remember that in a cozy cottage there is no need for excessive diversity, but it all depends on the style you choose, so there may be different color options.

One way to create original interior will be a combination of smooth and embossed surfaces with different textures. In such a situation, even a monochromatic design looks contrasting and attractive.

It must be taken into account that even just one textured detail can significantly enliven the space. For example, in a Scandinavian-style house, you can combine discreet curtains made of plain fabric and the same upholstery with wicker chairs, coarse knitted covers, etc.

Furniture

In cottages or country houses, it is better not to clutter the space with too much furniture. Moreover, modern tendencies dictate the fashion for minimalism. This is especially true for small houses, where it is best to choose multifunctional pieces of furniture, perhaps folding ones. In spacious country houses, large-sized furniture looks better.

It must be remembered that a combination of large-sized objects and small details will look most harmonious. If you place exceptionally large structures in rooms, they will not be perceived expressively. But too many small elements will sooner or later begin to irritate the residents and guests of the house.

Lighting

Lamps are chosen based on their appearance. It is important that during the day they fit into the overall style. Depending on the background, chandeliers, floor lamps or sconces are selected; they can be dark, light, golden - the main thing is that the atmosphere of the country house is stylistically consistent.

It is important to choose a lampshade wisely, so determine in advance which style you prefer - country, classic or minimalism. In large rooms it is recommended to install large chandeliers, while for small rooms compact lamps are more suitable.

C style Provence in the interior of the house

Provence– translated from French means province.

There is no sunnier and richer place in all of France than Provence. This region has the best of everything: sparkling coastlines, enchanting nature and gastronomic lifestyle. It is on these components that the Provencal interior style is based. Its colors, as if faded in the sun, interspersed bright colors create comfort and lift your spirits.

Provence style is the charm of bright, good old times and simple luxury. This style combines the centuries-old traditions of French country houses and eternal beauty Provençal nature. Inspiration, tranquility and comfort, light and lightness await you in the interior, which is literally permeated with the languid leisurelyness of the gentle sun, the freshness of the Cote d'Azur, the aroma of Provencal herbs and endless lavender fields.

Distinctive features of the interior in the Provence style can be considered:

Pastel colors
Very light, weightless curtains
Elegant, light, often white furniture
Light floors
Insanely many fresh flowers
Floral patterns
Ruffles, cutwork, sewing
Lots of trinkets made of porcelain, ceramics, fabric.

Geographically, this design style emerged in the south of France at the end of the 18th century and expressed the desire of wealthy bourgeois to join the life of the aristocracy. Provence is characterized by a slight “shabbyness”, when the furnishings seemed to have been burnt out in the hot southern sun and were exposed to the sea wind for some time.

C COUNTRY STYLE IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The word “country” can be translated as “village” and “country”. Rustic style, or as it is also called, country style, has many faces. Each country has its own view of home, decorated in a simple, rustic taste.

Country is, first of all, natural. This style of interior design is intended for lovers of a measured way of country life. Loyalty to family traditions, continuity of generations, the desire for a harmonious rapprochement with nature, originality - these are the main principles around which design canons are built.

Country style is very popular and resembles country life, comfort and closeness to nature. To create a country style interior, they mainly use wooden, wicker or forged furniture. Interior design may include structures made of metal, glass or concrete. Today, most people prefer this style and create the image of villagers.

You can choose any materials, as long as they meet the requirements of natural origin and high environmental friendliness- wood, brick, stone, copper, aluminum, paper, cotton, chintz, straw or reed will come in handy. In this style, texture is given special importance. Wallpaper, imitation fabric, stylized brickwork, wooden beams, columns or panels will bring the interior closer to the desired image. And, on the contrary, the coldness of chrome, glass, the soullessness of plastic and synthetics are absolutely unacceptable in a rural environment.

The floor can be covered with natural planks, laminate or tiles such as slate, terracotta or sandstone.

The favorite style is wood, it is used everywhere. Moreover, the less processing the surface has undergone, the more stylish it looks. Doors and windows are no exception. The first ones are solid with geometric embossing and simple fittings made of dark metal. The second ones are strict, simple in shape, with a large number of divisions.

A slave (MOROCCAN) style IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

Oriental style in the interior is the most interesting and diverse style among the others. Since it has absorbed the diversity of elements of Arab, Asian and Indian culture. Each component of the style of the oriental genre has its own characteristics and differences.

The Arabic style, in turn, includes the specifics of South-West Asia: the Arabian Peninsula (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, etc.) and North Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Iran, etc.). Turkey can also be added to these cities, since the main part of the state is located in Southwestern Asia, and the rest in Southern Europe.

This style represents peace of mind, harmony and tranquility along with beauty, brightness and wealth. An interior in this genre can be made both in the spirit of minimalism (Asian motifs - simplicity and practicality), and with the use of many additions and accessories (Arabic motifs - luxury and sophistication). The first, it turns out, acts as a counterbalance to the second style. Therefore, every decorative detail and every item requires stylistic selection and careful elaboration. To understand the big picture and recognize the right direction for all oriental interiors, there are some common features.

The Moroccan interior contains colors characteristic of the African style, that is, the colors of the nature of the black continent: desert, scorching sun, shady jungle, fires in the African night. These are sand, orange, terracotta, red (various warm shades of red), brown, swamp green, etc.

However, in addition to this, Moroccan interiors use colors characteristic of Arabic style: pink-orange, gold, scarlet, fuchsia, royal blue, dark purple, burgundy, etc.

Most often, stone floors are found in Moroccan interiors, due to climatic conditions. The stone is cold, but on hot days and hot nights the coolness of the floor increases the level of comfort.

If the coldness of a stone floor is scary, you can choose a tile or wood laminate. In Moroccan interiors, wooden floors are also not uncommon: mostly rough boards and stacked parquet (wooden modules of different colors are laid out in a certain way to create a beautiful ornament). But if we are talking about styling, laminate is quite suitable.

However optimal solution for the floor in a Moroccan interior it is still warm-colored porcelain tiles (brown, terracotta, beige).

In living rooms and hallways, the walls are most often plastered. In Morocco, decorative paint is used to decorate walls. textured plaster, after application of which the walls become like marble. Plaster can be ordinary. Then the plastered walls are painted with colored or snow-white paint.

In wet rooms and front halls, the walls are decorated with bright mosaics that form a Moroccan pattern.

The ceilings in Moroccan houses are very high. They are painted in one of the commonly used colors. According to tradition in common areas the ceiling is made blue or dark blue - it symbolizes the firmament. A border is made between the wall and the ceiling - it can be a mosaic, painting or lace stucco.

In expensive Moroccan interiors, the ceilings can be wooden - carved or painted with Moroccan ornaments. The work is difficult and very expensive, but the result is amazing.

Minimalism IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The concept of minimalism arose from the Latin word minimus, which translates as smallest. That is, the smallest combination of colors, textures, shapes and objects is used in the interior of the room.

Minimalism is a style for those who look to the future. The validity of this statement is confirmed by many designers. They believe that modern man will most quickly rest and restore strength after a busy day in a spacious room, free from unnecessary details, details and things. However, implementing the minimalist style in the interior is not as easy as it seems at first glance. When creating an interior, it is important to very subtly feel the difference between ascetic and functional life. After all, an interior in a minimalist style is not necessarily empty. open room with a couch as all the necessary pieces of furniture. No. Minimalism allows you to create a convenient, comfortable and functional interior that uses a small number of quality items.

The minimalist style won the hearts of innovators in design and architecture in the late 1980s. Inspired by traditional Japanese design and the concept of Zen Buddhism, London and New York architects created sophisticated interiors with an emphasis on clean lines, natural light and minimal furniture and decor.

The founder of minimalism, architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, proclaimed the basic principle of this trend - “Less is More”. Minimalism is the pursuit of perfection through restraint and asceticism, embodied in the simple geometry of forms.

A modern minimalist interior is a balanced living space, including only the necessary minimum of items. A minimalist interior comes to life thanks to the play of light, graphic shapes and dynamic color combinations. In this case, functionality and proper zoning come first.

C TIL Hi-tech IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The main features of the style are a lot of light, space and technical innovations.

High-tech came into fashion in the 70s of the last century on the wave of postmodernism. In a short decade, it spread across Europe and began to penetrate into Russia. This style has something of pop art and science fiction illustrations. Like any modernist movement, high-tech style is a challenge to everything traditional and outdated.
The style has several main distinctive features:
The lines are simple, strict, tough. This applies to walls, furniture and, to a lesser extent, accessories.
Shelves and cabinets are hidden. Storage spaces are installed so that it is impossible to think what is behind this flat surface The shelf is hidden.
Industrial materials. Metal, glass, concrete, brick, plastic predominate in the interior of a high-tech house. Leave the natural structure or polish to a shine. Wood has a right to exist, but it must be unprocessed.

High-tech technologies take care of the comfort, health and safety of those living in modern house. An armored door with a fingerprint scanner will make it impossible for unauthorized persons to enter your property from the threshold, and you will not need keys. The fingerprint scanner, which reliably identifies up to 99 different fingerprints, can be replaced with contactless cards or a chip. A reliable video camera built into the door will tell you who is behind the door. The image from the camera can be sent to your TV screen via the Internet, to your computer or mobile phone. And inside the house we will find space and minimalism.

The high-tech style in the interior is characterized by convenient equipment. The built-in audio-video system makes being in the kitchen more enjoyable, even all day. You can drink your morning coffee while listening to tunes from your MP3 player, or surf the Internet, watch the news or watch a movie on the LCD screen while preparing lunch.

And the English bourgeois style IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The American bourgeois style was formed under the influence of several styles of the twentieth century: Austrian Biedermeier (the so-called “comfortable” Empire style), Art Deco (geometric shapes, rich ornaments, exotic wood, glass, onyx, marble) and eclecticism of the post-war period. Speaking about the American bourgeois style in the interior, it is worth paying attention to the fact that it became widespread among successful capitalists and wealthy entrepreneurs, where housing was the same indicator of status, prosperity and prestige as luxury yachts and limousines. This was the era of the rise of the American economy, Prohibition, and the emergence of numerous nouveau riche. The area of housing is directly proportional to the impressive sums that the American bourgeoisie spent on furnishing their homes.

An important stage will be finishing the floor of the room; parquet is mainly used with geometric motifs - these can be straight lines, zigzags and triangles. Interior decoration is impossible without accessories. In the American bourgeois style, a separate part is given to this. This direction of interior design involves a certain democratization of space: lamps, candlesticks, large flower vases and medium-sized figurines are located on the floor. Product materials: crystal, onyx, glass, jasper, marble, brass. When choosing lighting, you should pay attention to chandeliers and floor lamps of geometric shapes (circle, semicircle, ball, cube, square, octagon) made of Murano glass. A striking solution in decorating will be a cascading crystal chandelier.

The main sign is temporary layers. It seems as if this interior was created step by step, each generation brought something of its own to it: from the grandmother - a solid library and a retro camera, from the mother there was a classic sofa and a chair by a famous designer, and the daughter painted the wall in a shade of turquoise and hung a fashionable one. lamp…

In fact, this is, of course, an appearance: bohemian interiors are a favorite theme for professional interior decorators. Creating an interior with history - even in a new building - is considered the highest degree of skill.

Traditional English style is an eclecticism of “flavors” from different eras, which today we perceive as classics.

The main principle of the English interior: rich and restrained. If we take moderate luxury on the verge of sophistication, a sense of taste and proportion, we get pure English style. Since England is an isolated island, this fact could not but leave its mark on the style of home decoration. Conservatism and a measured way of life are visible all around. From generation to generation, traditions remain constant, with only minor changes added to the layout of the house. The English style can be characterized by concepts such as respectability and luxury; in one word, it is a classic interior style with the addition of luxury. This style is reminiscent of the castles of English aristocrats - noble, majestic. As a memory of the colonial past, in some places there are shades of Indian and Chinese style.

The English style is characterized by the influence of two eras: Georgian (1714-1837) and Victorian styles (1837-1901). This period was marked by a rapid increase in the ability to use a variety of styles from around the world and different eras.

During the reign of King George I, the influence of Ancient Greece and Rome began to be felt in the English style. The style of that era can be described as majestic, restrained, proportional and symmetrical. The choice of color often depended on the direction of the world where the room’s windows faced. If to the north, warm shades predominated, for example, golden pink, lemon yellow. If to the south - cold: azure, rich green. The interiors of that time could contain elements borrowed from the cultures of India, Japan, China, Mauritania, Ancient Egypt, as well as the styles of Rococo, Louis XIV, James I, etc.

The Victorian style was formed in England during the reign of Queen Victoria, namely in the second half of the 19th century. At this time, thanks to the rapid development of industry and colonies around the world, the bourgeoisie began to get rich and take shape as a class. It should be noted that many interior items, previously not available to everyone and considered luxury, have gained mass popularity. Thanks to mass industrial production, many items that were previously considered unaffordable luxuries have become publicly available. Decorating, arranging and furnishing houses acquired a demonstrative character of status and wealth.

In the 19th century, the famous designer William Morris became famous for creating on the basis of a medieval English interior what is today called the English style throughout the world.

And American (national eclecticism) IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

Eclectic style is a combination of elements inherent in different eras and trends to create a coherent, harmonious interior.

The eclectic style originated at the end of the 19th century in Europe (France, England, Germany), when architects, in search of new ideas, began to mix elements inherent in various classical styles. Bold combinations of styles became a source of endless inspiration for designers and artists of those years.

Very quickly, eclecticism became widespread in North America, where it became recognized not only by people of art, but also by the general public and, in addition to architecture, manifested itself in interior design.

By the 1930s, eclecticism was replaced by art deco and modernism, and it managed to win the hearts of designers again only in the new millennium: in the 2000s, eclecticism burst into the world of design, absorbing all the current styles of the 20th century during its long absence.

Eclecticism often manifests itself in a mixture of similar and non-contradictory styles, such as classicism and empire, baroque and modern. But it is nevertheless interesting to us for its excellent ability to combine old and new, western and eastern, in the interior. The consequence of these experiments is, for example, the connection ethnic style with art deco and hi-tech.

Main features:

Different stylistic elements should be united by texture, color and general decision design.
Comfort and functionality expressed by a combination modern items with elements of past eras.
Using patterns on furniture such as stripes, zigzags, circles.
Patterned wallpaper, carved tiles on the walls, parquet, draperies on the windows and doorways.
Vertical lines, niches, rounded corners.
Oriental bedspreads and carpets, decorative pillows in a rich range of colors.
Decorative details that unite various items in the interior.

Chalet ( country style) in the interior

One of the old ones French styles the interior is a chalet. Translated from French, “chalet” means a hotel or house in a rural style. Initially this word meant small rural houses in the Alps, which served as a refuge for travelers and shepherds in bad weather, later they began to be called a whole direction in interior design, made in a rustic style

Chalet style is

simplicity;
practicality;
naturalness;
warmth and comfort.

The difference between a chalet and other similar styles, for example, country, is its great brevity and practicality.

Raw materials are often used in the interior:
unpainted wooden floors,
walls plastered or lined with wood, but without final finishing,
protruding ceiling beams,
large fireplace, roughly lined with natural stone.
All objects in the interior seem durable, stable, massive, and reliable. It is these principles of the chalet style that have made it so popular when decorating country houses.

Principles - the desire to be closer to nature, to be able to immerse yourself in beauty environment after a noisy and polluted city. It should also be noted that the popularity of ski resorts in our country is now at its peak. News healthy image life is not only useful, but also fashionable; skiing and snowboarding is the latest trend among sports trends. Well, wealthy people can afford to build a country house, the appearance and arrangement of which will be reminiscent of a ski resort all year round.

The Chalet style came to us from southeastern France, a province located on the border with Switzerland. It is the peculiarities of the mountain climate, the severity and even some harshness of natural phenomena and the rural lifestyle that are reflected in the style in which wealthy homeowners now prefer to build houses for country holidays. If we talk about the literal translation of the word “chalet,” then this is a shepherd’s house located near the mountains. It is obvious that the structure, the location of which was so difficult, had to meet all the requirements of strength and durability. Usually small houses for rural residents of European provinces, they were built from stone and wood - the foundation and part of the first floor were made of stone, and the attic was made of wooden beams or logs. Such structures have justified themselves over time - the stone base was a reliable protection against unpleasant weather conditions in the form of gusty winds, heavy rain or snowfall.

The origin of the Alpine style secured its association with rural simplicity, comfort and warm atmosphere dwellings. And the main feature of decorating a space in a chalet style is the use of natural materials. Such intensive use of wood and natural stone you will not find, perhaps, in any other stylistic movement.

Imagining a living room in a house located in a ski resort on the Alpine slopes, we involuntarily lean towards the style of a hunting lodge, but in a more spacious room with abundant use of wood and stone finishes, stuffed animals on the walls and fur skins on the floors instead of carpets. And in this presentation we are not far from the embodiment of Alpine style in living room interiors.

AND imperial style (EMPIRE) IN THE INTERIOR

The Empire style originated in France during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte and was the pinnacle of classicism. Translated from French, “empire” means “empire,” and this name perfectly characterizes this direction. Imperial luxury, pomp and solemnity are the distinctive features of this style in the interior.

Empire style (French style Empire - “imperial style”) is the style of late (high) classicism in architecture and applied arts. Originated in France during the reign of Emperor Napoleon I; developed during the first three decades of the 19th century; was replaced by eclectic movements.

One of the simple combinations is the polished surface of the bedside table and a fur blanket on the bed. Russian Empire this style appeared under Alexander I. Inviting foreign architects to Russia was a frequent occurrence, since it was fashionable among titled persons, and at the beginning of the 19th century there was a passion for French culture in Russia. For construction St. Isaac's Cathedral Alexander I invited the aspiring French architect Henri Louis Auguste Ricard de Montferrand, who later became one of the founders of the “Russian Empire style”.

The Russian Empire style was divided into Moscow and St. Petersburg, and such a division was determined not so much by territorial characteristics as by the degree of separation from classicism - the Moscow one was closer to it. The most famous representative of the St. Petersburg style of the Empire style was the architect Karl Rossi; among other representatives of this style, it is customary to name the architects Andreyan Zakharov, Andrey Voronikhin, Osip Bove, Domenico Gilardi, Vasily Stasov, and the sculptors Ivan Martos, Feodosius Shchedrin. In Russia, the Empire style dominated architecture until 1830-1840.

The revival of the Empire style in degenerate forms occurred in Russia during the Soviet era, from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s. This style of the Empire style is also known as the “Stalin Empire style”.

The Empire style was based on the architectural and stylistic traditions of the most ancient states: the Egyptian, Ancient Greek and Roman Empires. Columns, frescoes, arches, bas-reliefs, rich stucco, ceiling borders, pilasters - all these are borrowed antique elements that have become integral decorations of Empire style interiors. Military symbols on the walls: shields, swords, swords and armor symbolize greatness and valor, and family coats of arms symbolize the continuity of family traditions.

The characteristic features of the Empire style are:

Compliance with the rules of symmetry.
Artistic sophistication.
Solemn parade.
Monumentality.
Abundance of decorative elements.
Empire style is appropriate in the interior of spacious rooms with large windows and high ceilings. It is unlikely that this style will be suitable for decorating cramped apartments that are unable to convey all its pathos, grandeur and monumentality that were originally intended.

HOUSE interior – photo ideas for the design of your home (500 photos) interior design updated: October 29, 2017 by: website

In the soul of every person lives an Architect or at least a Repairman. Only this can explain the desire, if not to build a “dream house,” then at least to give your home some of its own features. And dreams, of course, are different for everyone and many simply cannot be realized without a well-thought-out action plan and knowledge of the basic principles of home interior design.

Creating a comfortable and beautiful home, which we can confidently declare “my fortress”, begins with the choice of a style concept for the design of the building itself, its key points (main rooms) and the garden area. So before you start work, you need to create, independently or with the help of specialists, a design project for the interior of the house.

Types of styles and home interior

In the very in a general sense the interior design style of a house or apartment can be defined as a harmonious combination of architectural features, decor and color solutions. They are formed under the influence of any national characteristics(Arabic, Japanese, English styles, etc.) or eras of social development (minimalism, Victorian, gothic styles). There is no point in listing all the directions, but it is worth characterizing the most popular of them.

Provence

Geographically, this design style emerged in the south of France at the end of the 18th century and expressed the desire of wealthy bourgeois to join the life of the aristocracy. Provence is characterized by a slight “shabbyness”, when the furnishings seemed to have been burnt out in the hot southern sun and were exposed to the sea wind for some time.

One of the simple combinations is the polished surface of the bedside table and a fur blanket on the bed. modern design The interior of a house in the “Provence” or “Southern France” concept uses the following techniques:

  • A priority natural materials in the setting (wood, stone, clay tiles, brick).
  • The color scheme consists of cool tones - lavender, mint, green, blue and others. They should look as if they have been burnt out or have a “bare” effect.
  • Only natural materials are used to decorate the floors, walls and ceilings - brick, stone, ceramics. Traditionally, for this direction, the floor is laid with warm-colored tiles (brown, pink-beige), and thick rectangular beams pass through the ceiling.
  • Almost all the furniture in the interior in the Provence style belongs to the “vintage” category, both in execution and in condition. Moreover, you can already purchase it aged or achieve this effect yourself.
  • Provence prefers printed fabrics with simple floral or geometric ornament. Porcelain decorations and fresh flowers are used as decoration.

It is the Provence style that is most suitable for the interior of a country house. This design will allow a person to feel like he is in warm France, even if geographically he is located much further north.

This style appeared in provincial England and symbolizes a rural flavor. It creates the impression of good quality, reliability, warmth, comfort, and many people prefer it when choosing the interior design of a private home. Country music cannot be divided into “modern” and “non-modern” versions. From the day of its creation to the present day, it has remained virtually unchanged.

Among the main features of the rustic style, the following are highlighted:

  • “Rustic” things are used as decor - wicker baskets, earthenware, wooden toys and crafts, dried flowers and berries. Among the ornaments, a variety of rural animals, mushrooms, sunflowers, fruits and vegetables (except grapes and exotics) predominate. By the way, these plants on the site can be grown in greenhouses vasha-teplitsa.ru.
  • Country textiles are only natural - wool, linen and chintz with floral and traditional English motifs (polka dots, stripes and checks).
  • For country music, the main thing is practicality, and therefore the floors in such interiors are made either from wooden beams dark color or terracotta tiles. If wood is used for walls, it should never be painted. It remains either covered with stain or a composition that imitates damage from a wood beetle.

Arabic (Moroccan) style.

A purely national direction, which is accompanied by fairly strict rules. In particular, the interior design of the house excludes any images of animals (figurines, embroidery, mosaics) or people, including portraits. The decor is mainly geometric and floral patterns.

Arabic style refers to the “rich” design styles. This impression is created due to the use of rich shades of blue (azure), scarlet, yellow, as well as gold trim. However, this style looks great in home interior design photos in magazines. Not everyone can live in such an environment for a long time.

Interior design in the minimalist style implies maximum emptiness, that is, the absence of any decorations, decor and ornament.

The beauty of this direction is based on 3 principles:

  • Monochrome - using only white, gray and black colors of varying intensities. A rare bright spot is, as a rule, an object accidentally brought into the environment.
  • Simple shapes - perfectly right angles, straight lines and smooth curves.
  • The most modern materials- plastic, glass, smooth wood, steel, aluminum.

High tech

Very closely related to minimalism, but focused more on functionality and does not have such monochrome. The high-tech style, which is more suitable for an apartment or office than for the interior design of a country house, is characterized by the absence of ornaments and unnecessary decorations, straight lines, and an abundance of metal parts and glass.

English bourgeois style is one of the most traditional trends in interior design of a house or apartment. It is very versatile and can include notes of classic style, Provence, country, rustic or even empire.

There are 3 bases by which an outside observer always determines English style in the interior:

  • A fireplace is a real, electric or decorative false panel with a corresponding shelf, where various objects (clocks, figurines, candles, flowers, etc.) are displayed in an intricate manner.
  • Furniture in Victorian or classical style, and especially an armchair with high back and comfortable armrests. Thick textiles, velvet or leather should be used as upholstery.
  • The presence of a bookcase, shelves or bookcase with books in the premises.

American (national eclecticism)

This style combines several directions at once, but is characterized by amazing harmony. In addition, the American-style interior looks expensive, but is accessible to almost everyone.

You just need to make an effort to achieve the following:

  • Expensive materials (wood) in the furnishings. Mahogany, cedar, and beech do not have to be real. The American style is popular because it allows the use of cheap imitations of expensive things.
  • Crystal or glass pendants chandeliers and lamps that hang in the middle of the room, creating a festive atmosphere.
  • All rooms are zoned using niches, arches and partitions.
  • A lot of upholstered furniture(sofas, armchairs, sofas, ottomans), tables, wardrobes and chests of drawers. Bedrooms must have a dressing table with drawers or dressing table.

Chalet (country style)

The “chalet” itself is a country house in the mountains of Switzerland, in which natural, minimally processed and decorated materials are used. Internal walls are not covered with anything other than plaster or tile cladding.

Design of key rooms of the house

By “key” we mean rooms that are visited most often by residents and guests. The house itself may not even be fully completed, but if at least one important room decorated in the chosen style, then the task is completed - the design follows the chosen concept.

Among the key rooms are the following:

  • Living room (hall, large room).

The center of the composition of any living room is the sofa, on which family members gather from time to time and on which guests sit down. This “figure” is present in any style, differing, depending on the chosen design, only in color and model.

All other furnishings are placed around the sofa, which can be pushed against the wall or stand in the middle of the room, dividing it into 2 parts. If the space allows, then you can create “islands” - a sofa with a table moved towards it, an armchair and a bookcase, an armchair and a floor lamp, etc.

  • Entrance hall (hall).

This is the first room that guests see.

Regardless of the chosen style, it should contain pieces of furniture:

— Clothes hanger (wardrobe) - an open hanger for scarves, hats, scarves and a closed compartment for outerwear.

— Shelf for shoes.

— A mirror with a nearby shelf for small items (keys, comb).

— Lockers for small things necessary for a person leaving home — umbrellas, gloves, shoe care products.

  • Kitchen.

The central room in the house, where family members spend a lot of time and often receive guests.

Accordingly, it should be as comfortable and functional as possible. Considering that in many homes the kitchen is not the best big square, the design should be thought out in detail and take into account 3 zones: a place for cooking (stove, cutting table, sink), a place for eating (table, chairs or a sofa), a storage place (refrigerator, closet).
