Homemade products from a washing machine engine (video selection, photos, diagrams). What can be made from an old washing machine? What can be made from a washing machine drum?

Today it is very difficult to imagine modern house without washing machine. This equipment becomes an indispensable assistant any housewife. In addition to clean clothes, this device saves enormous time and preserves the beauty of your hands. But, unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and over time the washing machine breaks down and requires replacement. Craftsmen are in no hurry to throw away the old machine, because, with desire and some knowledge, this device can be used quite practically. The second life of the washing machine can begin in a completely new way. This device has many valuable, useful components and assemblies, thanks to which you can build useful things for the household.

The most used element of a washing machine is its door. Many craftsmen use it in place of a small window, which is installed in small rooms on a summer cottage.

To get good and useful homemade products, can be disassembled and used:

  • Frame;
  • Manual control (elements);
  • Engine;
  • Hermetic door;
  • Pulleys;
  • Drum;
  • Pump;
  • Relays and switches.

The originality lies in the fact that the door is very reminiscent of a ship's porthole. You can also use a car door to decorate a dog’s kennel. Except original design the door will have a practical purpose. If necessary, the dog can be isolated from guests. You can make a cute one from a washing machine drum coffee table. To do this, you need to take several rods, they must be secured to the drum. From above using special fastenings a glass table top is installed.

You can install LED lighting inside the drum.

Such an original piece of furniture will be a wonderful decoration in high-tech style, which can decorate a balcony, veranda or attic. If you connect your imagination from old typewriter, you can make interesting and original elements decor that will become the highlight of the country interior.

What can you make from an automatic washing machine with your own hands?

With your own hands, you can build such a useful device as a juicer from an automatic machine. This device will become indispensable during the season of fresh fruits and vegetables. Making a juicer is possible in 2 ways. The first option is to use a centrifuge with a washing compartment. This option allows you to create several processes in one device at once with minor modifications. Namely the process of grinding and squeezing.

For making:

  1. A washing machine with the activator located at the bottom is suitable.
  2. For cutting, it is replaced by 3 homemade knives, which can be made from strip steel.
  3. The tank drain hole must be plugged.
  4. A mesh made of stainless material is installed in the centrifuge so that the side surface is covered.

Before use, the structure must be washed with baking soda. The second option is made from a barrel machine. To do this, you need to install a homemade centrifuge.

It is very important to achieve alignment during installation, then the device will work better.

To do this, the engine is suspended on 6 springs, 3 of which are balanced, and the rest are pressed up. To dampen strong vibration, the housing of the structure can be mounted on a car tire.

Making a feather removal machine with your own hands from a washing machine

For people who keep a lot of poultry, a machine that removes feathers quickly and easily may be necessary. The feather removal machine is also made from a machine.

For making:

  1. A steel disk with a smaller diameter than the tank and a thickness of 3 mm is installed at the bottom of the tank.
  2. Holes are drilled in it into which rubber fingers are placed. On average, 13-140 pieces need to be installed.
  3. Everyone else technical units you don't have to change it.
  4. In the side walls up 15 cm from the bottom of the tank, the hammer fingers are installed in the same way.
  5. The lower disk must be installed on the drive shaft.

There is no need to plug the hole, as it is useful for draining water. Before using this device, poultry It is necessary to scald it well with boiling water and place it in a tank.

After turning on the engine, the installed rubber fingers quickly remove the feathers.

The process is quite efficient, and the carcasses are clean after processing. The most expensive part of this design is the rubber fingers, which must be selected according to the type of pen.

How and what can be made from a motor from a car

An old washing machine with a working electric motor can be used to make a generator. Using a motor, you can build a device that will help organize lighting in storerooms or utility rooms.

To do this:

  1. It is necessary to disassemble the engine to remove the core, from which it is necessary to remove a layer 2 mm deep on a lathe.
  2. Afterwards, grooves with a depth of 5 mm must be cut into the core.
  3. Neodymium magnets are inserted into the grooves at the same distance from each other.

To fill the gaps of magnets, it is used cold welding. At the end of the manufacturing process, the surface of the rotor must be sanded. Next you can start complete assembly devices.

Assembling a barbecue from a washing machine drum

A homemade barbecue from a washing machine drum can be used in the courtyard of a private house, at a dacha or on an outdoor picnic. Manufacturing is possible due to the fact that the drum body is made of durable stainless material, which has high properties withstand high temperatures. Making a barbecue from a drum is quite easy and simple, just have enough equipment welding machine, and set aside some time.

To get started:

  1. Must be done supporting part future barbecue, it is best that this part can be removed, this will allow you to move the barbecue to any convenient place.
  2. To make the support, only non-flammable and durable material can be used.
  3. The height of the leg under the barbecue can be done at your own discretion, as long as it is comfortable.

Many craftsmen use old metal flower stands for support. To make this device, drums from front-facing machines are suitable. If the machine with vertical loading, you will have to use a grinder to cut off one of the sides.

In addition to the barbecue, a homemade round smokehouse will be convenient and useful.

A mobile smoker is made from a drum that is removed from a top-loading machine. All side openings of the drum must be closed with a steel sheet. This is necessary so that the smoke does not disperse in different directions. It is necessary to install on top chimney. This can be done after cutting the hole required diameter. The grate must be secured inside the drum. You can weld the grate yourself or take it from the stove. You can always use such a smokehouse. Such devices for cooking delicious meat and fish will be a godsend for people who like to save money without sacrificing their comfort.

Method for making a lathe from a washing machine engine

The motor can be used to make small woodworking tools. A lathe is made from a corner that serves as a frame, profile pipes and other available materials. The electric motor can be taken from any old car. Even a small washing machine motor will do. You can adapt the engine to the frame in any way in a convenient way. The most important thing is that the axis is parallel supporting structure. The headstock is attached to the motor pulley. Tailstock made from scrap materials and installed parallel to the frame. The main part of the machine is the tool rest. This part serves as a support for the cutting part. It is necessary to ensure its movement along and across the frame. You should also not forget about reliable fixation during operation of the machine.

Summing up, we can safely note that with certain knowledge and imagination, old things can become very necessary and useful in the household. Repurposing old things allows you to save money and create original and interesting devices such as a stove, barbecue, electric generator, lathe and sharpening machine. Crafts can enliven and decorate the interior of not only the yard, but also the home. Washing machine has many parts and elements that can be used to make many interesting and useful units. The use of an electric motor from a machine allows you to build kitchen appliances such as a juicer and a sterilizer for canning. To design everything useful devices, it is necessary to carefully develop a drawing, prepare necessary details and tools. When everything you need is at hand, you can start assembling.

Homemade products from a washing machine engine (video)

You should not throw away old electrical appliances, because in capable hands old things can turn into the most useful and irreplaceable devices.

Looking at an old washing machine, any housewife dreams of quickly replacing it with a new assistant. The home craftsman, on the contrary, is in no hurry to throw the machine into scrap. He thinks about where this “wealth” can be used.

Answering the question of what can be made from a washing machine, let’s carefully consider it from all sides.

We will see that the design contains many useful components and assemblies that can be new life in the hands of a good master.

Judge for yourself: a body and an engine, pulleys and a drum, a window with a sealed door, relays and switches - this is a list of components from which you can make many useful things and mechanisms in the household.

Let's explore together the most popular homemade options from old washing machines, both conventional and automatic.

Sharpening machine

The first thing you should pay attention to after inspecting a used home washing machine is the engine. It has enough power and speed to make a homemade sharpener. No complex modifications are required here.

For the shaft you need to make an adapter attachment on which it will be attached grinding wheel. If on seat provide an additional “neck” for the cutting wheel, then together with the sharpener we will get cutting machine. They can not only cut plastic pipes, but also metal (reinforcement, sheet or corner).

As you can see in the photo, the washing machine motor is attached to the frame using four brackets. The switch for it was removed from the same washing machine. A regular piece of thick board was used as the base. The option turned out to be quite acceptable, especially considering its mobility and ease of manufacture (no welding required).

Here is another similar option for using an engine to install a grinding and cutting wheels. Having placed them on a common adapter, they are clamped with a nut with a left-hand thread.

Simple crafts from an old washing machine

Not every person knows how to masterfully work with welding or a lathe. However, even in this case, you will be able to find a worthy use for the old washing machine. Look at the window that covers the drum. This is a masterpiece of engineering art and a godsend for design.

Without further ado, many use it for its intended purpose, but in an updated context. Cut out the washer door along with part of the body and you will get an excellent “marine” porthole. It will look original in any interior.

If you love your yard guard, then be sure to decorate his booth with this modern “facade”.

Except original look, this option has practical significance: if necessary, the dog can be easily isolated from guests without fear for their legs and clothes.

Just don’t forget to make side panels in the booth ventilation holes(the window on the automatic washing machine is sealed!).

Coffee table made from a washing machine

Your old automatic washing machine, or rather its drum, will help decorate the interior of your apartment. You can use it to make an original coffee table. Perforated stainless steel, complemented by colored lighting, looks great.

It is not difficult to make such an unusual piece of furniture in the high-tech style. You will need several steel rods that need to be attached to the washer drum. It is fixed on them round table top made of glass or MDF board.

Brazier

The washing drum body, made of durable and high-quality stainless steel, can withstand very high temperatures. Therefore, it can be used as a barbecue.

A few pipes, half an hour of welding and a convenient barbecue grill will appear on your estate. By making the supporting part of the structure collapsible, you can take it with you on country picnics.

Drums from front-loading machines, as well as from top-loading washing machines, are suitable for making barbecues. In this case, you will have to cut off one of the sides of the body with a grinder, and provide it with a stable support from below.

Mobile smokehouse

Why buy an expensive smoker for fish and meat when there is an old washing machine sitting idle on the farm? There are many options for using it in this capacity.

We will only stop at mobile device. It can be made from a drum removed from a top-loading automatic washing machine.

To prevent smoke from escaping through the side perforated holes, they must be muffled with thin steel sheet, wrapping and securing it around the body. On top, as it should be in a real smokehouse, we make a hole for the chimney. We fix a smoking grate inside the drum (you can take it from an old gas stove).

Concrete mixer

This is a rather complex device, which, in addition to mixing concrete, must ensure its unloading. Therefore, when planning to make a concrete mixer out of an old washing machine, first weigh your plumbing skills and knowledge.

The easiest way to turn a barrel washer into a device for mixing concrete is to replace the standard activator with super-shaped blades. They can be made from a thick 4-5 mm steel strip. To do this, you need to cut it to size, then bend the two blades and rotate them 90 degrees relative to each other.

After this, they need to be welded to a shaft passed through the hole for the remote activator.

The drain hole, which is in every barrel washing machine, must be plugged. Next we proceed depending on how much concrete will need to be mixed. If we are talking about 1 bucket, then you can leave the old single-phase motor.

If you need to prepare a large volume of concrete, then in place of the old motor you will have to install a more powerful one (0.75-1.2 kW) with low speeds (1300-1500 per minute).

In addition, the “original” belt drive should be replaced with a gearbox that reduces the speed (from 1300 to 25-30) and increases the torque on the mixer blades.

Note that best quality Mixing occurs when it is not the shaft with the activator that rotates, but the concrete mixer body itself with the blades fixedly fixed in it. However, to create such a design, a deeper and more complex modification of the washer is required.

Sterilizer for preservation

Another homemade product from an old barrel washing machine will be useful for the dacha and farmstead. This is a sterilizer in which you can install a dozen cans for heat treatment.

The only point that needs to be taken into account: such a device is suitable for sterilizing fruits and vegetables. Processing meat requires more high temperature(above + 100C).

The rework sequence looks like this:

  • A plug is placed on the activator hole;
  • A thick wire mesh for cans is mounted on the bottom;
  • You need to place a support under the mesh;
  • A hole is drilled in the housing for installation of a 2 kW electric boiler.

1. Activator plug;
2. Water level;
3. Washing machine tank;
4. Cover;
5. Drain hose;
6. Cans with preservation;
7. Wire mesh;
8. Electric boiler (heater) 2 kW;
9. Electrical cable.

Juicer

There are two options here:

  • Usage old car with centrifuge and washing compartment;
  • Remaking a conventional barrel washing machine.

Let’s say right away that the first option is better, since it allows, with minimal modifications, to implement two processes in one device: chopping fruit and squeezing it. To do this, you will need a washing machine in which the activator is located on the bottom, and not on the side wall. Replacing it with three homemade strip steel knives, we get a fruit slicer.

Knife installation diagram:
1. Knife,
2. Shaft;
3. Clamping nut;
4. Washer;
5. Tank bottom;
6. Bearing assembly with oil seal;
7. Activator pulley;
8. Locking screw.

The drain hole of the washing tank must be plugged.

There are few additional treatments for the second unit - the centrifuge. You need to install a stainless steel mesh in it (mesh size 1.5 mm, wire thickness 0.2 mm) so that it covers the side surface of the centrifuge.

After thoroughly rinsing the centrifuge, washing tank, hoses and pump with baking soda, you can make the first load.

The operating principle of this juicer is very simple. The fruits are washed and in small portions (1/2 -1 bucket) loaded into the washing tank (knives must be turned on). After 15-20 minutes of cutting, the engine is turned off and the crushed mass is transferred to a centrifuge (in portions of 3-4 liters). Turn on the centrifuge and squeeze out the juice.

Making a juicer from a barrel washing machine or automatic machine is much more difficult. In a barrel, a “stumbling block” can be homemade centrifuge. Making it is half the battle; the main thing is to achieve perfectly accurate alignment. Without this, at high speeds it begins to vibrate strongly and it will be impossible to squeeze out the juice.

Here is a drawing of a working sample. The master had to work hard to reduce the runout of the centrifuge (the motor is suspended from the washing machine body on 6 springs). Of these, 3 balance the engine in horizontal plane, and 3 others push it up. The building itself stands on the old car tire, which dampens vibration.

Feather removal machine

The body of an old washing machine is suitable for assembling a device that can be used to remove feathers from poultry carcasses. To make it, you need to install a steel disk 3 mm thick and with a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the tank at the bottom of the tank.

Holes are drilled in it and special rubber fingers are placed in them. They are the most expensive elements future design($1.5-2 per piece). On average, you need 120-140 pieces. The diameter of the fingers depends on the type of bird being plucked. Please keep this in mind when you place your order.

All other components of the washing machine, including the motor, do not need to be changed. Holes are drilled in the side walls of the case for installing pen-removing (punch) fingers. To do this, you need to step back 15 cm from the bottom of the tank.

The distance between the holes for the fingers is chosen within 3-4 cm. The lower disk is mounted on the drive shaft.

There is no need to plug the drain hole here. It will be needed to drain water that drains from the carcasses. After scalding the bird in boiling water, it is placed in a tank and the engine is turned on. Rubber fingers remove the pen quickly and cleanly.

Your favorite washing machine has already lived its life, and you decided to throw it in the trash? Don't rush, because you can create different homemade products from a washing machine engine.

Spare parts

The automatic washing machine has quite complex design. Even in the event of a breakdown, it will contain the spare parts necessary for the manufacture of some homemade products. Let's see what can be made from spare parts of an old washing machine.

The main spare part, of course, is the engine (motor). If it is in good condition, then it can be used to make a generator, sharpener, lawn mower and other devices. Carefully disconnect the wires, remove the motor from the washing machine body and save it.

The manhole cover can turn into an unusual window or a beautiful bowl for feeding pets. You can also make a housing for meters from durable glass.

Legs, springs and other small parts are useful for the construction of various homemade products. The body itself can become a cabinet or a unique table.

Let's take a closer look, what can be done with the motor.

Types of motors

Asynchronous

The oldest type of engine, consisting of stationary stator and rotating rotor. The first serves as the basis and magnetic circuit for the structure, and the second creates the driving force of the drum. The entire motor is driven by the alternating magnetic field of its components.

Asynchronous motors have weak torque, Therefore, the drum often rocks during operation. Other disadvantages – overall dimensions and modest efficiency. At the same time, they are silent, cheap, and have a simple design.

An asynchronous motor is often found in cheap, low-power devices.

There are two- and three-phase asynchronous motors. The first ones have long gone out of production and can only be found in very old structures.

Collector

The most common type of engine. They work perfectly under both alternating and direct voltage. Under the body with hidden rotor, stator, generator, providing rotation speed. At the collector terminals there are special brushes, with the help of which the rotor comes into contact with the engine.

Please note: If you connect the rotor and stator directly, the motor shaft will rotate clockwise. For the opposite direction, you need to change the connection diagram of the electric motor of the washing machine - connect the brushes towards the rotor.

Unlike their large predecessor, commutator motors are quite compact and have a high rotation speed. They are universal: they work with both alternating and direct current. The main disadvantage of a commutator motor is low wear resistance: due to constant contact of the brushes with the commutator, both the brushes and the commutator quickly wear out. If the first ones can be easily replaced with new ones, then replacing the collector will cost a lot of effort.

Inverter

Most modern look motors The washing machine consists of a rotor and a stator. Unlike other types, the rotor of the inverter motor is connected to the drum directly. They are distinguished by high wear resistance, absence of unnecessary parts, simplicity of design, noiselessness, and small size.

However, all this in one motor is not a cheap pleasure: development, production, and therefore purchase of an inverter motor requires large financial costs.

Connection

To connect the engine to a 220-volt network, you need to have a tester on hand: it will help us break the wires into pairs and also measure the resistance in the windings.

Before connecting new models, you need to determine, using a tester, the wires that come out of the tachogenerator and we will not need them during work. Finding them is quite easy - just measure their resistance: it should be about 70 Ohms.

Using the same device, we find pairs of other contacts. Now we connect one of brushes to one of the wires, and connect the second brush and another wire to the winding outputs. After connecting the motor from the washing machine to the network, the device will begin to rotate. To change the direction of rotation, just swap the brushes.

With older models, the situation is a little different: after determining the paired outputs, you need determine the working and exciting windings. The first has more resistance than the second.

We figured out how to connect the motor from an automatic washing machine to the network. Now let's see what machines and devices you can create yourself using it.

Homemade products

Homemade products made from a motor are quite varied: using it you can create t sawdust, lawn mower, concrete mixer, juicer, pottery wheel and much more. Let's consider the manufacturing process of some of the listed devices.

Emery

One of the most common uses for an old engine. Assembling the machine does not require much effort. The most difficult part of the job is securing whetstone to the motor. The fact is that the diameters of the shaft and the stone differ from each other, so to connect them you will need a third item. A perfect piece metal pipe about 20 cm long. At its end a thread is cut, the length of which is 2 times greater than the thickness of the grindstone.

It is necessary to cut the thread in the opposite direction of movement of the electric motor shaft. We attach the shaft to the other end using a soldering iron.

For greater reliability, you can drill at the connection point hole and tighten the bolt there and a nut. Alternately screw two pairs of nuts and washers onto the flange threads, and finally tighten the locknut.

We fix the engine on the stand. Can serve as a stand old table, and a piece of thick board. For fastening, you can use fasteners from the same washing machine from which the engine was removed.

Wood lathe

The power of the old engine is enough for slow processing of a cylindrical workpiece . To relieve the motor from side loads, you can attach a support to it.

Drum grinder

It is made using a large wooden cylinder with a steel bar in the center. The ends of the rod are connected to the motor cartridge and the bearing stand.

Concrete mixer

Old washing machines, or “barrels,” are easily converted into compact and practical concrete mixer. To do this:

  1. We remove the activator from the car.
  2. Cut from sheets 4-5 mm thick steel blanks for making blades.
  3. We weld a pair of U-shaped blades, connected at right angles.
  4. We weld them in place activator

A homemade concrete mixer will work after you connect the motor from the washing machine to the power supply. If the machine will be used to work with small volumes of building material, then the power of the old engine is quite enough. For larger volumes, it is recommended to connect a more powerful motor.

Feed cutter

To make a feed cutter-grain crusher, you will need a “barrel” body and an engine from an automatic machine:

  1. At the bottom of the body create a hole through which the finished feed will come out.
  2. Similar to a concrete mixer create blades with knives. Need to choose for them suitable size: There should be a slight distance between them and the edges of the body.
  3. Installing the blades: one at the bottom of the body, and the other at a distance of 0.5 meters from its top. To achieve greater homemade performance, it is recommended to use a separate shaft for each blade so that they rotate in opposite directions.
  4. All that's left is cut holes on the cover, through which we will fill the raw materials.

Lawnmower

Let's move on to more complex and extravagant designs. First on our list is a lawn mower. By making a homemade lawn mower, you will save a huge amount of money, because these simple machines are quite expensive. If you do it right, then a homemade lawn mower made from a washing machine engine will be in no way inferior to the devices on store shelves.

First, let's figure out what materials and tools we need:

  • commutator motor;
  • Compact but durable wheels. These can be removed from strollers and toy cars. If you don't have them at hand, cut out the wheels from a plastic profile;
  • for the base you will need a thick piece of steel or regular pan lid;
  • knives, discs;
  • metal pipe;
  • steel corners;
  • copper wire, plug;
  • switch;
  • fastening materials;
  • open-end, socket, wrenches;
  • welding machine, grinder;
  • hammer;
  • drill, screwdriver, pliers;
  • soldering iron

Let's get started:

  1. At the center of the base cut holes for the motor shaft. We install it with the shaft down.
  2. Attached earlier manufactured bushing onto the shaft, and attach the disk (knife) to it.
  3. We assemble a frame for the motor from the corners.
  4. We weld the handle and attach the switch to it
  5. We connect the engine to the power supply.

Be careful: Unlike factory devices, the wires of our homemade lawn mower are not insulated. It is strictly not recommended to use this device during rain or when cutting wet grass.

If you still want your machine to be used in any weather, then securely insulate the wires, and for the device assemble a small casing made of waterproof material. A metal bowl is suitable as a casing.

Generator

Tired of unexpected power outages? Do you want to create backup power supply who will help you out at the right time? So why not create a generator from a washing machine engine with your own hands? The assembly process is quite complicated, but the result is worth it.

The basis for the future generator will be an asynchronous motor. Before creating the generator, let's do some preparatory steps:

  1. Disassembling the motor housing. With the help lathe We make a cut on its core with a depth of 2 mm.
  2. Into pre-prepared grooves on the core insert neodymium magnets.
  3. We create a template for attaching magnets from a tin strip. We mark on it the locations of two rows of magnets.

The dimensions of the strip must exactly match the dimensions of the core: the tin must fit tightly onto it.

Preparations are completed, let's proceed to the assembly itself. We will need:

  • sandpaper;
  • cold welding;
  • glue;
  • rectifier;
  • tester;
  • battery;
  • charge controller.

The assembly sequence is as follows:

  1. Glue the template onto the motor. We glue magnets onto the template itself.
  2. Make sure that the distance and angle between the magnets do not change. Otherwise, there may be voltage drops, a decrease in power, or complete inoperability.
  3. Free space between magnets filled by cold welding.
  4. Let's move on to grinding the engine surface.
  5. Using a tester, we find the working winding. We leave its wires and remove all the others. We pass the wires through the rectifier. We connect their ends to the controller. We connect the controller to the battery.

A homemade generator from a washing machine engine is ready for use. An electric drill, screwdriver, or other similar tools are suitable for unscrewing the device. Such a generator, of course, will not be able to provide electricity to your residential area, but it is quite suitable for lighting a couple of rooms or operating several devices such as TV, refrigerator, computer.

Useful video

As you can see, the range of uses for spare parts of an old washing machine is quite wide. So what are you waiting for? Breathe a second life into served her term washing machine.

We will see that the design contains many useful components and assemblies that can receive a new life in the hands of a good craftsman.

Judge for yourself: a body and an engine, pulleys and a drum, a window with a sealed door, relays and switches - this is a list of components from which you can make many useful things and mechanisms in the household.

Let's explore together the most popular homemade options from old washing machines, both conventional and automatic.

The first thing you should pay attention to after inspecting a used home washing machine is the engine. It has enough power and speed to make a homemade sharpener. No complex modifications are required here.

For the shaft you need to make an adapter attachment on which the grinding wheel will be attached. If we provide an additional “neck” for the cutting wheel at the seat, then together with the sharpener we will get a cutting machine. They can cut not only plastic pipes, but also metal (reinforcement, sheet or corner).

As you can see in the photo, the washing machine motor is attached to the frame using four brackets. The switch for it was removed from the same washing machine. A regular piece of thick board was used as the base. The option turned out to be quite acceptable, especially considering its mobility and ease of manufacture (no welding required).

Here is another similar option for using a motor to install a grinding and cutting wheel.

If you love your yard guard, then be sure to decorate his booth with this modern “facade”.

In addition to the original appearance, this option has practical significance: if necessary, the dog can be easily isolated from guests without fear for their legs and clothes.

Just don’t forget to make side ventilation holes in the booth (the window on the automatic washing machine is sealed!).

A round tabletop made of glass or MDF board is fixed on them.

We will focus only on the mobile device. It can be made from a drum removed from a top-loading automatic washing machine.

To prevent smoke from escaping through the side perforated holes, they must be muffled with a thin steel sheet, wrapped and secured around the body.

Note that the best mixing quality is obtained when it is not the shaft with the activator that rotates, but the concrete mixer body itself with the blades fixedly fixed in it.

To process meat, a higher temperature is needed (above + 100C).

The rework sequence looks like this:

  • A plug is placed on the activator hole;
  • A thick wire mesh for cans is mounted on the bottom;
  • You need to place a support under the mesh;
  • A hole is drilled in the housing for installation of a 2 kW electric boiler.

Juicer

There are two options here:

  • Using an old machine with a centrifuge and a washing compartment;

Knife group design

In a barrel, a homemade centrifuge can become a “stumbling block”.

Of these, 3 balance the engine in a horizontal plane, and the other 3 push it upward. The body itself rests on an old car tire, which dampens vibration.

They are the most expensive elements of the future design (1.5-2 dollars per piece).

1. How to connect a motor from an old washing machine through or without a capacitor

Not all washing motors will work with a capacitor.

There are 2 main types of engines:
- with capacitor start (always on capacitor)
- with start relay.
As a rule, “capacitor” motors have three winding terminals, a power of 100 -120 W and a speed of 2700 - 2850 (centrifuge motors for washing machines).

And motors with a “start relay” have 4 outputs, a power of 180 W and a speed of 1370 - 1450 (washing machine activator drive)

Connecting a "capacitor" motor through the start button may result in loss of power.
And using a permanently switched capacitor in a motor designed for a starting relay can lead to burnout of the windings!

2. Homemade emery from a washing machine engine

Today we'll talk about the rework asynchronous electric motor from the washing machine to the generator. In general, I have been interested in this issue for a long time, but there was no particular desire to remake the electric motor, since at that time I did not see the scope of application of the generator. Since the beginning of the year, work has been going on new model ski lift. Having your own ski lift is a good thing, but skiing with music is much more fun, so I quickly came up with the idea of making such a generator so that in winter on the slope I could use it to charge the battery.

I had three electric motors from the washing machine, and two of them were absolutely working. I decided to convert one of these asynchronous electric motors into a generator.

Looking ahead a little, I will say that the idea is not mine and not new. I will only describe the process of converting an asynchronous electric motor into a generator.

The basis was taken from an electric motor of a washing machine with a power of 180 Watts produced in China in the early 90s of the last century.

I ordered magnets from NPK Magnets and Systems LLC, I had already bought magnets during construction before wind farm. Neodymium magnets, magnet size 20x10x5. The cost of 32 pieces of magnets with delivery is 1240 rubles.

The alteration of the rotor consisted of removing the core layer (deepening). Neodymium magnets will be installed in the resulting recess. First, 2 mm of the core was removed on a lathe - the protrusion above the side cheeks. Then a 5 mm recess was made for the neodymium magnets. The result of the rotor modification can be seen in the photograph.

Having measured the circumference of the resulting rotor, we made necessary calculations, after which a strip template was made from tin. Using a template, the rotor was divided into equal parts. Neodymium magnets will then be glued between the risks.

8 magnets were used per pole. There are a total of 4 poles on the rotor. Using a compass and marker, all magnets were labeled for convenience. The magnets were glued to the rotor with “Superglue”. I will say that this is a painstaking task. The magnets are very strong, I had to hold them tightly when gluing. There were times when magnets came off, pinched fingers, and glue flew into my eyes. Therefore, you need to use safety glasses when gluing magnets.

I decided to fill the cavity between the magnets with epoxy resin. To do this, the rotor with magnets was wrapped in several layers of paper. The paper is secured with tape. The ends are covered with plasticine for additional sealing. A hole is cut in the shell. A neck is made of plasticine around the hole. Epoxy resin was poured into the shell hole.

After hardening epoxy resin, the shell has been removed. The rotor is clamped into the chuck drilling machine for subsequent processing. Sanding was carried out with medium-grit sandpaper.

There were 4 wires coming out of the electric motor. I found a working winding and cut off the wires from the starting winding. I installed new bearings because the old ones were a bit stiff to rotate. The bolts that tighten the body are also new.

The rectifier is assembled using D242 diodes; the “SOLAR” controller, purchased a few years ago on Ebay, is used as a charging controller.

Tests of the generator can be seen in the video.

To charge the battery, 3-5 revolutions of the generator are enough. At maximum speed of the drill, it was possible to squeeze 273 Volts out of the generator. Alas, the sticking is decent, so there is no point in installing such a generator on a windmill. Unless the windmill will have a large propeller or gearbox.

The generator will be located on the ski lift. Testing in field conditions this winter.
