The neoclassical style, despite its name, dates back more than two hundred years. It arose as the antithesis of the Empire style, oversaturated with pompous, heavy decorations and furniture. It was almost forgotten during its heyday and was revived again in the wake of a return to ancient traditions.

A true classic style in a city apartment is realized extremely rarely, if only because the layout of the home and the proportions of the rooms differ markedly from the principle of central symmetry. Neoclassicism offers a unique stylization with a more active participation of furniture and volumetric architectural elements, which were simply unknown at the birth of classical styles.
- Central symmetry– according to ancient traditions, the center of the room, or rather the ceiling, is a point of symmetry. The location of furnishings is determined by the central point. The usual solution for a room is to mark the center with a luxurious chandelier. The layout of a beautiful classical building implements the same principle: a central main room around which the rest are located, like planets around the sun. It is impossible to achieve such a ratio in an apartment, of course.

- Stone– marble. Expensive and beautiful material finishing is used for cladding walls and sometimes ceilings. Venetian plaster replaces it perfectly.
- Fabrics– dense, even heavy, with a rich plant, but not floral, pattern. Natural ones, of course: velvet, cotton, silk. Carpets are widely used: both single-color with high soft pile - for comfort, and patterned ones.

Neoclassicism doesn’t like glitter either. The metals he prefers are bronze and brass. If gilding is still allowed in small quantities, then chrome plating is too bright a sign of industrial design to be used.

The design of a bedroom in a classic style gives the impression of a solid ensemble. There are no clearly defined zones or groups; the entire space is linked into one concept. Clarity, peace, harmony - this is what neoclassicism represents.
