Making home fragrances with your own hands. How to make natural flavoring with your own hands. Hanging auto-fragrancer made of fabric

Today in stores household chemicals Air fresheners come in a wide variety. But as research shows recent years, 90% of them are completely artificial in origin and, among other things, they contain substances harmful to the human body. But everything is not so gloomy, because there are also natural air fresheners for the home that you can easily make yourself. We offer you some tips on how to make your own home fragrance from coffee, gelatin, perfumes and essential oils, as well as special video on the creation of natural flavors.

Benefits of Natural Air Fresheners

Any of us would like to wake up in the morning and smell lavender or delicate vanilla instead of musty and unpleasant air. In this case, manufacturers of household chemicals offer a variety of air fresheners, but everyone knows that none of them contain natural ingredients, no matter what the advertising slogans say.

Moreover, air fresheners often contain components harmful to the human body, such as acetone. But how then can you freshen the air in your home and at the same time enjoy absolutely harmless luxurious aromas? Natural flavors made with your own hands will come to the rescue.

Natural flavor - perfect solution for families with allergies or small children. You can not only choose the best scent for yourself, but also benefit your body if you use aromatic oils or coffee as the basis for the freshener. But first things first. We bring to your attention some of the most effective and simple natural home fragrances.

Making natural coffee flavoring for home

Coffee air flavoring - best option to freshen the air in the kitchen. It will not only create a “delicious” aroma, but also “wake up” the appetite, which is important for comfortable absorption of food.

To create this flavor, you only need a baggy cloth and a couple of spoons of freshly ground natural coffee. You either need to sew a small bag, or buy a ready-made one, pour coffee into it and tie it with a string. The flavor is ready!

Making natural flavor from gelatin

A homemade gelatin scent freshens a room for about two weeks. It not only fills your home with wonderful aromas, but is also an excellent decorative element for any room: be it a living room or a bedroom.

Advice. A crust may appear on the surface of the flavor, preventing the release of the flavor. To avoid this, just lubricate the surface of the air freshener with glycerin or any aromatic oil.

To prepare it we will need:

  • Not large size form;
  • water;
  • essential oil of one or more types;
  • gelatin;
  • glycerol.

Making gelatin flavoring couldn't be easier. Let's take a few steps to do this:

  1. Place a small saucepan on low heat with hot water(you need as much of it as the mold holds - it’s better to aim for about 200-250 ml) and pour 2 tablespoons of gelatin into it. Stir the mixture until the gelatin dissolves.
  2. After the gelatin has dissolved, add a teaspoon of glycerin to the resulting mixture (this will prevent rapid evaporation of water) and a couple of drops of the selected essential oil. If you don't like the color of the resulting mixture, then you can easily solve this problem - just add a little food coloring and the bright color is ready.
  3. To end up with an unusual and aesthetically attractive air freshener, place various decorative elements: citrus slices, flower petals, pine needles, etc. Now you can fill the mold with the prepared gelatin composition. The mass will harden for several hours and the flavor is ready.

Preparation of fragrances from perfumes and essential oils

Fragrances made from essential oils have a distinct smell, so you not only need to carefully choose a specific composition, but also carefully consider where you would like to place it. We offer you a couple of ways to make fresheners from natural ingredients with the addition of essential oils.

Method No. 1. We will need any essential oil, a container for fragrance, hydrogel and water. Use a beautifully shaped glass as a container. Either convex or tall will look original. Fill it with water up to half, add essential oil to the container (4-7 drops, do not overdo it). Mix thoroughly.

Then fill the rest of the container with hydrogel. Next, wait a little until it swells. This is a sign that the flavor is ready. This will make a wonderful and creative air freshener for your home.

Method number 2. Quite simple to implement and quite long in operation. To create this freshener, we use a beautifully shaped vessel (or a transparent flower vase) with a not very narrow neck, wooden sticks, baby oil (100-140 ml), alcohol (a couple of tablespoons) and essential oil (8-13 drops).

So, first pour oil into the vessel, then alcohol and essential essence. Mix the mixture thoroughly and place the sticks in the container. It will take about 3-4 hours for them to be thoroughly soaked in the flavored mixture. Then turn them over and enjoy the aroma. This flavor will work effectively for several weeks.

Advice. You can make the fragrance container more impressive by adding various decorative elements, for example, a beautiful ribbon or wire decorated with beads/flowers, etc.

You can also use a bottle of leftover perfume as a flavoring agent. We add ingredients there according to the same principle as in the previous version, with the exception of alcohol and essential oils. Mix thoroughly and insert the sticks into the bottle. And your favorite scent will delight you even more for a long time.

Natural home fragrances, as you can see, are pleasant, beautiful and healthy. Create, fantasize! We wish you creative inspiration!

Do-it-yourself flavoring: video

Home fragrance: photo

Today is a DIY post, I decided to make an aroma diffuser with sticks. Firstly, it looks beautiful in the interior, secondly, it is a useful thing because it smells nice, thirdly, I love experiments and all sorts of creative endeavors.

Once upon a time I had a diffuser like this. It cost quite a lot, like most similar flavors. True, it evaporated quite quickly. Moreover, today I am very, very interested in what he evaporated there and how harmful it was. In general, I decided to make such a flavoring with my own hands, precisely for this reason it will not be expensive in terms of monetary costs, but at the same time it will be absolutely natural and harmless.

Naturally, I read everything I could find on this topic online. And through trial and error I came up with my recipe, which I can present on the blog, along the way talking about the pros and cons.

There are three options for making this flavor:
- on alcohol (smoothed off immediately - evaporates quickly);
- DPG (dipropylene glycol), also an alcohol, but dihydric (they say it will also work well, but I also ignored it, since it needs to be specially obtained somewhere);
- on a base oil (any oil, base, baby or even regular vegetable oil, the main thing is that it should be odorless) - this is the option I settled on.

So, you will need:

  • a small (100-250ml) vessel (vase), always with a narrow neck (not plastic);
  • vegetable oil, base oil, or even better, baby oil (it is lighter and colorless), always ODORLESS;
  • vodka or alcohol;
  • essential oil (one or more);
  • reed or rattan sticks 15-30 cm long, depending on the height of the vase. Bamboo kebab sticks, which can be bought at almost any hardware store for pennies, are excellent for this role.
I took vegetable oil, the rest of the essential oils (I like citrus scents with a little mint added), bought a pack of bamboo sticks and a small, completely cheap glass decanter-sauce bottle at the nearest hardware store.

Preparation of the mixture:

The mixture is prepared according to the principle of 70% base oil + 30% essential oil (mono or a mixture of your favorite oils).

For better evaporation, add vodka or alcohol to the mixture (a tablespoon of vodka per 100 ml of oil).

I saw numerous recipes online where 30-40 drops of essential oil are added to 100 ml of base; I initially tried to do just that, but there is no aroma at all if you stick your nose directly into the bottle. But the goal is different! Therefore, we add essential oil about 1/3 of the total volume of the mixture. It is not necessary to take an expensive essential oil for these purposes.

The volume of the mixture depends on the chosen vase.

How it works:

🌟 Sticks should be immersed in the aromatic mixture by 1/3 of the length.

🌟 The more sticks, the more intense the aroma.

🌟 To enhance the aroma of the sticks, you need to turn them over regularly.

🌟 If the mixture is exhausted, you can also add essential oil.

Nuances:

  1. If these are barbecue sticks, then it is better to cut off the sharp ends, since a porous absorbent surface is needed. I did this with cat claw scissors.
  2. In principle, there will be no intense smell; you should expect a very light aroma. Moreover, if you are constantly indoors, you are unlikely to feel it very much. For example, on the first day, when I just mixed the treasured mixtures, I didn’t feel anything at all, because... I smelled the ether in its most concentrated form.
  3. After about two weeks, I replaced the sticks (since I changed the vase and, accordingly, the sticks needed a different length) and after a while I turned them over, and, oh, miracle, a much brighter aroma appeared. Therefore, I came to the idea that maybe the mixture should have been infused and the sticks added later. Or, perhaps, they become clogged with a mixture that has already eroded, in which case they need to be changed regularly.
  4. After use, the sticks can be dried, beautifully tied with a ribbon and put in the closet as a flavoring agent.
  5. It is better to place the diffuser in close proximity to the place where you want to feel a pleasant aroma, for large premises this is unlikely to be effective.
  6. If the jar is transparent, then the mixture can be tinted desired color a drop of food coloring.
As a result, I made two aroma diffusers, one for the room and one for the bathroom.

I also thought it would be a good idea for a bedroom. Mix lavender oil into a diffuser, it soothes and promotes healthy sleep, put the fragrance on bedside table and...turn it over when you are going to the kingdom of Morpheus. The aroma lamp loses here, because before you fall asleep, you must remember to put out the candle.

People can close their eyes and not see greatness, horror, beauty, and close their ears and not hear people or words. But they can't help but be swayed by the aroma. For aroma is the brother of breath. It will enter people with its aroma, and they will not be able to protect themselves from it if they want to live. And the aroma penetrates to the very depths, right into the heart, and there it makes a categorical judgment about sympathy and contempt, about disgust and attraction, about love and hatred. Whoever controls the smell controls the hearts of people.
— Patrick Suskind. Perfumer. The story of a killer
In general, the experiment is not ideal, but overall it is interesting. If you want, try it!

It is quite pleasant to enter a house where there are no foreign odors, the causes of which can be anything: cooking, children who cannot help but move and play pranks, pets, the same dampness can be the cause of an unpleasant odor. However, what can you do to maintain a pleasant aroma in your home? There is no need to run to the store to spend a lot of money on an air freshener, because it is very easy to make at home.

Pros of homemade air fresheners

Now in any supermarket or household chemical store you can see large assortment air fresheners that differ not only in smell, but also in appearance and principle of operation. Their disadvantage is that they contain a lot of synthetic substances, and to be more precise, it is from them that air fresheners are made. Not only can they be unsafe for humans, but some of them are also quite expensive.

With a little time, money and a minimum of effort, you can make your own home air freshener.

Moreover, this process is possible creativity, so it’s quite possible to come up with something original and creative that will not only freshen the air, but will also decorate the interior.

Do-it-yourself natural air fresheners are simply irreplaceable where people with illnesses live respiratory system or there are very young children. So, to make a home fragrance with your own hands, you should use your imagination, devote a little time to it and prepare necessary ingredients. The following products are often used:

  • Water (preferably purified).
  • Various essential oils that are very beneficial.
  • Fragrant fruits, such as orange.
  • Leaves of herbs or trees.
  • Flower petals.
  • They even use some food products and much more.

At first it’s difficult to come up with something on your own and combine the ingredients. There are various recipes and ways to create a home air freshener for this.

Recipes and ideas

At first glance, such handicraft seems quite complicated and unusual, but once you try to make a flavoring at home, you will understand that nothing could be easier. To do this, you do not need to have any special skills or “secret techniques.” Very often, you don’t even need tools for such an activity, but more on that later.

Based on essential oils

Before you begin the process, you need to have everything you need ready and at hand. For this freshener you will need:

Taking the lid from the jar, you must first paint it any color. After this, make holes in it; an awl is best for this, since it is difficult to hit the needle with a hammer. Fill the jar a quarter full with baking soda, then add 10-15 drops of essential oil. Then you can close the jar and put it in the place you like.

If there is no jar with such a lid, then you can take any jar and replace the lid with durable paper. Holes can be made in it with a needle. Secure a sheet of paper with any elastic band (for beauty, you can take a beautiful hair elastic). Foil is also suitable, in which you will also need to make holes.

The air freshener is ready. If desired, you can embellish it a little. There are such paints as stained glass. To make it more decorative, you can paint the jar with these paints.

Lately, the diffuser has been quite popular, because if you buy it in a store, good quality, then you can pay good money for it. The thing is quite expensive, but its cost is unjustified. Making such an air freshener at home is very easy and simple, spending a minimum of effort and money.

For this you will need:

In a jar or vase necessary pour in a little bit lean oil, then pour in your favorite flavored oil or several types. The durability and intensity of the aroma will depend only on how much aromatic oil. The sticks should be inserted into a jar of oil. The aroma diffuser can be safely decorated with any ribbons, flowers, or whatever your imagination allows, since it is a fashionable piece of furniture.

Quite persistent natural aroma is pine needles. A fresh smell remains in the house for a long time after the New Year. coniferous tree. Those who have ever put up a Christmas tree at home understand what we are talking about. Certainly, all year round keep a Christmas tree at home or the spruce will not work, since the needles will dry out and fall off, and there will be no more aroma. But no one bothers you to make a freshener from small twigs. One or two branches will be enough for the aroma to fill the whole room. To make the whole house smell like a Christmas tree, you can simply leave branches in each room.

You can also make a bouquet of herbs such as mint and basil, they also fill the house with a fresh and cooling aroma. This option is suitable for those who do not really like the smell of coniferous trees.

It's very easy to freshen the air in your apartment with this natural, homemade air freshener. Just like the previous ones, it is created using aromatic oil. Here you can not limit yourself to one scent for the whole house, but create your own scent for each place. With its help, you can please all family members, since each person has his own preferences. And different scents are suitable for each place: something tasty for the kitchen, but something fresh for the toilet.

To make it you will need to acquire:

  • Spray or atomizer. Any bottle left over from cosmetics will also work.
  • Water, it is better to use boiled or purified water.
  • Any essential oil or mixture.

So, you should pour water into the prepared jar, and drop essential oil into it. The number of drops can be controlled independently, since the intensity of the smell will depend on its quantity. However, it is recommended to start with 10 drops. That's all, the air freshener for your apartment or house is ready. Before using it, you should shake it a little.

Preserved petals

It’s very easy to make your own home air freshener, even one as unusual as this one. You don’t need anything expensive or unusual for it, just stock up on petals of any flowers that have a rich scent: rose, jasmine, chrysanthemum or peony, lilac is also suitable. Some herbs also work very well: mint, basil or thyme.

Taking a half-liter jar, wash it well and pour the mixture of petals in several layers. However, layers of flowers should be alternated with the same layers of the flower itself. regular salt. You need to fill the jar almost completely, but don’t go all the way to the top. Pour out 50 ml of alcohol; it needs to fill the contents of the jar. Once the alcohol is in it, close the jar tightly with a lid. This Flavor needs to be placed in any dark place for two weeks, but sometimes you will have to shake it, but under no circumstances open it.

After two weeks have passed, you need to remove the entire mixture from the jar and transfer it to any container. You can even use an ordinary saucer. Or take a beautiful decorative container.

Citrus option

The aroma of citrus fruits very often reminds us of the New Year holidays and the Christmas tree. To make the freshener you will need: oranges (you can use tangerines if you wish) and dried cloves. So, taking a citrus fruit, you will need to insert a clove (with the sharp end) into its peel. This can be done chaotically, or you can come up with some kind of pattern. The output will be something similar to a hedgehog, which will fill the whole house with a divine smell. These scents can be used to decorate every room in the house.

Freshener with gelatin

A natural component such as gelatin can preserve aroma very well for a long time. To make a gel freshener, you will need two tablespoons of gelatin (20-30 grams). It will need to be mixed with water. This can be done in a regular glass, stir and then heat until completely dissolved. Now it’s time to decide on the flavored oil. 10-15 drops are enough, and to prevent drying out, you can add just a little glycerin (1 teaspoon). To somehow decorate the mixture, you can add dye, flower petals or pebbles.

Variation from coffee

Coffee beans simply smell divine, their smell can be eliminated by any other foreign unpleasant aroma. It’s not for nothing that coffee can often be seen next to perfume. There's nothing easier to manufacture such a flavoring. You can make many beautiful things from coffee beans that will not only become decorations, but will also fill your home with the pleasant aroma of coffee.

Ground coffee is also suitable as a freshener. To make a flavor with it, you need to take a small bag that is made of natural fabric and pour coffee into it. It can be hung anywhere (bathroom, kitchen, room). Or you can simply place a saucer with grains.

Any of the presented types of fresheners is perfect for the toilet, as it can neutralize foreign odors.

Currently, it is impossible to surprise anyone with simple home fragrances. After all, this category of goods is sold in huge quantities in every store. Home fragrances can differ both in appearance and in their aroma. Although they have the same functions.

Benefits of Home Remedy

Buying a ready-made product is not difficult, but making your own homemade fragrance is much more enjoyable. There is another reason. You need to work a little, first of all, to create a completely natural home fragrance with sticks with your own hands, which will not contain chemical components that are harmful to human health. This fact is very important for both healthy person, and for allergy sufferers.

Apart from the benefits of home remedies, you should pay attention to the price of the product. A purchased home fragrance stick from a well-known company can be very expensive. By creating it yourself, you can choose not only the smell, but also the intensity of the aroma.

Not every housewife knows how to make home fragrance with her own hands without difficulty. Many methods and variations of creating fragrant products can be used in the work. However, not every method can be effective and simple.

Home fragrances will help fill a person’s home with a delicious smell that will lift their spirits and have a beneficial effect on the immune system of the residents of the house.

Types of essential oils

Essential oils can rightfully be considered the most popular ingredient for homemade air fresheners. They are selected based on personal preferences. One person loves the pine scent, and another will vote floral scent. Each smell has its own effect on nervous system person.

For example, coniferous species trees are very often used for relaxation and relaxation, lavender can calm and balance the mental state, and vigor and energy can only be felt by smelling citrus. If you wish, you can combine several different scents in one bottle of homemade home fragrance. However, this is not yet a guarantee of success.

Cotton swab

A simple option to refresh a space is to drop a few drops of your favorite oil onto a cotton swab, which you then place in a glass jar or on an ordinary saucer. In order for the esters to evaporate, cotton wool with oil must be periodically placed on a radiator or in another warm place. You can renew the smell by re-applying ether to the product. Scented cotton wool is placed not only in the bathroom, kitchen, living room, but also in the wardrobe.

Fragrant jar

An equally popular way to create a fragrance from oils for the home is the method using a jar. During the work you will need to acquire:

  • foil;
  • soda;

  • toothpick;
  • essential oils.

  • Soda is poured in a small amount onto the bottom of the container.
  • After which essential oil (30 drops) is dripped into it.
  • Shake the jar well.
  • The neck of the container is wrapped in foil. Make small holes in the foil using a toothpick.
  • After which the jar is closed with a lid.

The operating principle is no different from the previously presented version. When the aroma becomes less intense, it can be renewed with the help of that same ether. Such a freshener is not at all difficult to make, but to use homemade remedy will be for a long time.

When creating a gel air freshener, it is worth considering that this substance can be used not only at home, but also in the car. Because it cannot crumble or spill at the most inopportune moment. It's very easy to prepare. To work you will need to have:

  • glycerin - 1-2 tablespoons;
  • gelatin - 1 pack;
  • essential oil - a couple of drops;
  • cup;
  • water - 200 ml.

In one glass of water, dilute a package of gelatin, add glycerin and essential oil. All contents of the container are thoroughly mixed. This type of air freshener does not dry out in a few days, but lasts a long time. To give the flavor an aesthetic appearance, the liquid can be poured into a beautiful transparent bowl, add lemon, lime or orange, which are cut into thin slices. Spectacular home decor, made by yourself, is ready.

The smell of coffee

The aroma of coffee is one of the most favorite smells of many ladies. Dark-colored grains can be successfully used to create a home air freshener. One of the design options for a creative air freshener would be a small fabric bag. It is sewn at home yourself from linen, cotton or burlap. Ten fresh coffee beans are poured into the prepared fabric product, and the contents are tied with a decorative cord. The contents of the bag must be updated periodically. A similar aroma can be achieved even with ground coffee. It is simply poured onto saucers and placed in different parts of the room.

Citrus components

This method will appeal to housewives who do not really like essential oils. You can freshen the air just by using whole fruits. Lemon, lime or orange are best in this case. The room will be filled with a pleasant aroma using orange hedgehogs. How to create such a flavor? The process is not difficult to perform: ten sprigs of dried cloves are inserted into the round fruit. The pleasant smell in the room will last all week with the help of delicious “hedgehogs”.

Another version of a room freshener with citrus can be made using plain water to which lemon juice. This liquid is poured into a spray bottle. This space fragrance can be used both in the room and in the toilet.

Incense sticks

For production you will need:

  • wooden sticks;
  • glass vase;
  • refined vegetable oil;
  • essential oil;
  • alcohol or vodka.

Vegetable oil is mixed with essential oil (25 drops per 100 ml). Add a couple of tablespoons of alcohol or vodka. The aroma mixture is poured into a vase and wooden sticks are placed in it.

Creation of aroma stones

These types of stones will not only make the air in your living space fresh, but also make the room a stylish space. After all, they can perform unusual element interior Harmony and sophistication lie in a simple form. To make an aroma stone, you need:

  • salt - 1 kg;
  • flour - 580 grams;
  • starch - 4-5 tbsp. spoon;
  • hot water- 200 ml;
  • gouache or food coloring;
  • essential oil.

The whole process consists of the following sequence of actions:

  • All components, except ether, are mixed in a large container. The dough should be cool.
  • The entire mass should be divided into equal pieces, which will then be rolled into balls that look like stones.
  • Each pebble needs to be “seasoned” with a few drops of essential oil.
  • After the stone has dried and hardened, it can be placed on a shelf in the room. This air freshener can be placed either alone or in groups.

Using cookie cutters you can create aroma stones non-standard shape and adjust them to any room interior. A bright colors products will only help to decorate the whole world around.
