Interesting power tool. Power tool... What's in my name? Electric tools - where is the best place to buy

There are three types of Russian power tools:

  1. Completely Russian production at domestic factories
  2. The brand is Russian, but produced abroad (most often China)
  3. Assembly in Russia from imported components (again Chinese)

Izhevsk Mechanical Plant

Tools produced at this plant can be found in stores under the Baikal brand. The entire production cycle takes place in Izhevsk, exclusively our components are used. At the time of writing, the following products were presented in the Baikal online retail store:

The price range of the products offered is pleasing to the eye: the goods are cheap and can compete with the Chinese. After reading reviews on forums, we were able to identify following features Russian power tools from Izhevsk:

pros

  • Low price
  • Doesn't overheat
  • Low vibration
  • High precision work
  • Some copies are durable (10 years of operation or more)
  • Simplicity of design
  • Detailed instructions with plenty of technical information

Minuses

  • Errors in the assembly
  • Problems with ergonomics (they can be seen even in the photo)
  • A bit noisy
  • Large size compared to similar products from other well-known manufacturers
  • Poor functionality
  • Undeveloped dealer network (difficult to buy)

As a result

Judging by the reviews on the Internet, Baikal products are more than worth the price for their work: for the most part, the craftsmen were satisfied. And these responses don’t look like they were “twisted” by the company’s marketers: there is a suspicion that the plant is not involved in promoting goods, where do promoters come from on well-known construction forums if you can’t buy Baikal tools in the largest online stores? Not everyone was also able to purchase products in offline stores in their cities.

In general, if you find it, buy it, but it will be difficult to do. Marketing and appearance goods decide a lot today: unfortunately, Baikal has a huge gap in these things, which makes this instrument known only in narrow circles.

Interskol

This brand is perhaps known to almost all people, and not only those involved in construction. Chinese components are used in production; there are also factories in China, but part of the production is carried out in Russia.

We will not dwell on it in detail: there is plenty of information and reviews, we will limit ourselves to only a short summary of the advantages and disadvantages.

pros

  • The best option in terms of price and quality ratio
  • There are unkillable specimens

Minuses

  • Low accuracy for many products
  • Constructive flaws
  • Ergonomic problems
  • Insufficient documentation

As a result

Interskol has both successful models and “mischievous” ones. Before purchasing, carefully read reviews of specific products. Fortunately, Interskol is represented very widely in large online stores.

Perm Research and Production Instrument-Making Company

Another representative of goods that are not easy to purchase, even if you really want to. Although judging by the reviews, the tool is quite competitive in the economy segment.

pros

  • Low price
  • Reliability and indestructibility
  • Characteristics are better than analogues

Minuses

  • Constructive flaws
  • Ergonomic problems
  • Almost impossible to buy

Konakovsky Power Tool Plant

And again the legendary Soviet instrument good quality, which cannot be purchased anywhere. There is so little information that it is not even possible to highlight the pros and cons.

Electrical machine-building plant LEPSE

Here the situation is much more positive. On the official website of the plant there is an online store with the possibility of delivery throughout Russia and the current price list.

The range of power tools includes grinders and electric scissors.

pros

  • Built to last
  • Low price
  • Durability
  • Simple design
  • Minuses

  • Constructive flaws
  • Ergonomics
  • Heavy weight of products compared to analogues
  • Design
  • And although it was not possible to find LEPSE products on large online platforms for selling goods, the presence of the plant’s own online store makes the model more accessible than representatives of other Russian developments.

    Parma

    They produce disk and chain saws. The product can be easily purchased in large online stores. However, among the reviews there is an opinion that this is no longer the legendary quality from the 80s, but no different from a Chinese instrument.
    We will not dwell on the features in detail; they are no different from the problems of an instrument from the Middle Kingdom.

    Other manufacturers

    Now the most promising business direction for power tools (and, perhaps, many other products) is the Chinese direction. These can be either factories in China with a Russian brand, or our assembly from south-eastern components. The number of manufacturers is very large and is growing every year. Some leave, others appear.

    • Caliber
    • Progress-Tool
    • Energomash
    • Diold
    • Resource
    • Anchor
    • Stavr
    • Grad-M
    • Stavr
    • Fiolent

    conclusions

    Among the abundance of domestic names, it is easy to get confused, but if you understand the basic principle, you will get two directions.

    The first of them is factories that have survived from Soviet times, when they produced timeless equipment. It is not distinguished by the beauty of its design; the designers thought little about ease of use, focusing only on the quality and simplicity of the design.

    On the one hand, this simplicity allows you to support low price, on the other hand, the resulting product does not always satisfy all the buyer’s needs.

    It is also important to note that some of these factories are trying to adapt to current market conditions, which leads them to Chinese components, and this directly affects the reliability of the tool.

    Another one important problem Russian power tools - the most primitive marketing, or lack thereof. The exception here is Interskol, but it has already followed the adaptation mentioned above, and the quality of their products is often not up to par.

    However, if the same Izhevsk plant invests in marketing, this will inevitably lead to an increase in the cost of the final product, and then it will no longer be so attractive in price. And given the design and ergonomics, which are for large number buyers are of no small importance, such a product will most likely be uncompetitive in the oversaturated power tool market.

    Of course, people will prefer Bosch, Makita or DeVolt to legendary Soviet quality for the same price. Moreover, there is no confidence that Izhevsk or Perm will be able to maintain the quality level if it is necessary to increase production volume.

    The master's tool is one of the means by which this or that construction technology, improving and speeding up the work process. The more powerful, accurate, reliable and safe a power tool is, the better the quality of the work it can do. The longer it serves the master, the less it fails at the right moment and creates fewer risks for the master’s health during work.
    With a large selection of brands of manufacturers of professional and household construction power tools, many are guided by advertising or the reputation of a particular brand, advice from professionals or friends, or own experience. In this article I will try to divide well-known (at least in Spain) brands into several categories, so that those who wish to purchase construction power tools could at least get their bearings in the large selection and choose a tool according to their needs.

    Let me make a reservation right away that this review cannot be completely objective, because... relies on the established reputation of manufacturing companies among craftsmen and, partly, on my experience and the experience of masters known to me. There are no advertisements here. To achieve a more objective result, it is necessary to conduct thorough research, in which, judging by their absence, the manufacturers themselves are not interested, of whom, despite all the diversity, there are very few. Just a few big ones industrial groups produce more than half of the famous brands.

    So, I propose to consider professional construction power tools in three categories: highest, average and basic. In the highest category we will place a tool that has proven itself to be extremely reliable and expensive, but worth it, in order to pay its price for it and intended for many hours of daily use “for slaughter” for several years. In the middle category we will place a reliable and inexpensive tool designed for frequent use V construction work, but not recommended for continuous use “for wear” or produced in a small assortment for a narrow circle of professionals. In the “basic” category we list brands that produce relatively cheap tools, positioned as professional, but cannot withstand heavy loads, intended for short-term periodic use in construction work.
    I also propose to divide household tools into at least two categories: reliable, proven, respectively, as suitable for frequent use at home, and basic ones for rare short-term use at home in the garage or in the country. Usually these are cheap copies famous brands, produced in Asia. You, dear readers, can help me supplement (or correct) this list in your comments on this article.

    In addition to the listed brands, there is a category of very cheap and low-quality tools that are not worth listing or purchasing either. As they say, “the disappointment from an unsuccessful purchase will be stronger and last longer than the joy of saving on a purchase.” It is worth noting that each brand has its own more and less successful models; we cannot discount defective parts and faulty assembly, which can ruin your mood if a tool with an impeccable reputation breaks down. But manufacturers who value their reputation, value customer trust and charge a lot of money for their products, as a rule, try to provide high-quality warranty service, often with replacement with new models and pleasant compensation for the trouble.

    I wish you to buy a suitable set of tools that will never fail in your work and will serve you for a long time and properly. And I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the largest professional tool store in Europe.

    (When using materials from this article, be sure to place an active link to its source.)

    Every man has at least a minimal set of power tools at home or in his garage. Most often it includes a hammer drill and grinder, an electric drill and a screwdriver, a jigsaw, etc.

    If you need to update an existing one, or make an initial purchase of a tool, then a non-professional may have a problem with the choice, because... There are dozens of models on the market in a wide range various manufacturers. Help such buyers make right choice is what this article is intended to do.

    Industrial power tools

    As a rule, craftsmen are individuals and do not use industrial tools due to their narrow specialization and very high cost. It is advisable to purchase it exclusively for industrial enterprises or use in construction. Only here it is possible to recoup its value with high dividends.

    The following power tool manufacturers are the undisputed leaders in this segment:

    Professional power tools

    In the mentioned market segment of this product, a tool is presented that was initially designed to perform a limited number of available operations, which, as a rule, does not exceed three. But with the highest quality.

    This tool is characterized by a significant resource and power, exceeding the value of a similar parameter for semi-professional and household tools. Professional models they are more reliable, have increased wear resistance and are characterized by increased strength indicators (the body material is more resistant to mechanical loads, including shock).

    They allow you to work in continuous mode for much longer than is permissible for household tools. In this case, damage to the armature, windings, brushes and other internal elements the structure does not occur.

    Tools belonging to this group must have mechanical or electronic adjustment, allowing:

    • smoothly change power;
    • exclude sudden jerks during the work process at the start-up stage and during fixation;
    • smoothly adjust the specified rotation speed;
    • stabilize it as loads increase;
    • protect the product from overload, automatically turning off when the specified values are reached;
    • set max torque.

    This group includes the following brands:

    Characteristic distinctive feature instruments belonging to the group under consideration is their blue color. All German instruments from this brand are reliable and affordable. That is why they are preferred quite often;

    Household power tools

    The tools presented in this market segment are produced exclusively for home use. Many models are made using special ergonomic design, which gives them additional visual appeal, and are focused on greater versatility and ease of use.

    The main disadvantage of this category of tool is the prohibition on their continuous use for more than 3 – 4 hours a day. Moreover, during this time it is recommended to take at least three breaks lasting up to 15 minutes (within an hour).

    The main advantage is cost. Therefore, in cases where occasional use of the tool is planned, this is the best option.

    Let's consider several major manufacturers of power tools of the mentioned class that are worthy of mention:

    Mains or battery, what to choose

    All offered power tools are divided into two groups. The first includes products that require external source power supply They are called network.

    The second includes a tool that allows you to work regardless of the presence or absence of a network, which is powered by its own battery. This tool is called a battery tool. This tool is characterized by ease of use, lightness and versatility.

    The division mentioned applies to an instrument from any segment discussed earlier.

    The advantages of network models are their power and increased reliability. But there are many situations. When performing work without using a cordless tool is almost impossible.

    This tool is better suited for work that requires frequent movement. Battery products are indispensable in explosive and fire hazardous areas.

    The disadvantages inherent in such a tool are the periodic need for recharging, the significant cost of batteries and lower power ratings.

    Russian manufacturers

    On the shelves of specialized stores, a significant part of the power tools offered have Russian names. But, unfortunately, this does not always indicate that these goods were made in Russia.

    Most of these products can be classified into two groups, which can roughly be called:

    • Pseudo-Russian (a Chinese-made instrument from an unknown manufacturer, but under a Russian name);
    • Assembled using the “screwdriver assembly” method on the territory of our country, but from the same Chinese (optionally from other) components of unknown origin.

    And only a third of such power tools are actually developed and completely manufactured here.

    Leading Russian manufacturers offering on the market own products, are:

    • IMZ (Izhevsk) is a huge diversified production facility producing weapons and microelectronics, devices for various purposes and power tools in a wide range. The products on the market are represented by the Baikal trademark (passed international registration);
    • "Interskol" mentioned above. produces wide range power tools, but partially from imported components. The company owns a number of factories located in different parts of the world:
      • BEZ – Russia;
      • IPT – Italy;
      • Two factories in China (in the cities of Jinghau and Shanghai).

    Some of the products of this manufacturer are manufactured at partner enterprises, such as:

    • IMZ - Russia;
    • GGP - Slovakia;
    • Starmix - Germany;
    • Sparky - Bulgaria;
    • Rexon - Taiwan;
    • Keyang - South Korea and so on.
    • OJSC PNPK (Perm) – power tools are a by-product of this company;
    • KZMI (Konakovo) - Production is carried out using imported equipment. The lineup includes about twenty types of power tools and pneumatic tools. The drills of this plant are considered one of the best among those produced in Russia. And this plant does not have screwdrivers among its products Russian production, analogues;
    • EMZS "LEPSE" (JSC) Kirov produces electric shears, electric hammers and angle grinders;
    • SEZ (Saratov);
    • "Inkar-Parma" (LLC) - electric saw plant.

    Power tools manufactured in Southeast Asian countries today account for up to half of the assortment that fills Russian shelves. This tool is offered in a lower price category and can be presented to buyers as products manufactured in the USA, Europe and even in Russia. Many people know examples of the latter symbiosis. These are the brands of power tools:

    • "Bison";
    • "Caliber";
    • "Energomash";
    • "Progress - Tool";
    • "Resource";
    • "Diopd";
    • "Stavr";
    • "Enkor";
    • "Grad - M", etc.

    I welcome you to this article, in which I have compiled a rating of power tool manufacturers based on reliability, so that in the future, when going to the store, you know which companies to focus on. After all, there are manufacturers who produce very good tool, and there are also those whose products are best avoided altogether. It would be nice to know who is who. But first I'll do it short review by class of power tool, the rating itself will be at the end of the article.

    Introduction

    Having decided to buy a power tool and coming to the store, you are immediately faced with so many items that your eyes widen. And you immediately notice that prices for different brands are very different.

    Someone believes that some companies inflate the price of their products only because of their famous name(the hackneyed phrase “you overpay for the brand”), others, on the contrary, think that a cheap instrument is necessarily bad. In fact, neither one nor the other is right.

    It’s just that the entire power tool can be divided into two large class: household and professional. Household ones are cheaper, professional ones are more expensive. And if you bought a household item for professional activity, then naturally you will say later that she is bad.

    Or, if you bought a household appliance for household chores, and your neighbor Vasya is a professional, then, of course, you think that Vasya “overpaid for the brand”, since neither your nor your neighbor’s instrument breaks.

    Let us now consider these two classes of power tools separately.

    Household tool

    Household tools are intended for infrequent use at home when carrying out any one-time work. For example, it is convenient when you have a hammer drill at home, so that you can easily and simply hang up the shelf you just bought yourself, and then put the hammer hammer back in a distant drawer for six months until the next need.

    When working with household appliances, you should follow the recommended operating mode for them - work for 15-20 minutes, rest for 10-15. If you do not give it periodic rest, then, of course, it will not break immediately, but in general its total resource will decrease significantly.

    Sometimes you can hear that someone, having bought a cheap power tool, works with it for hours without rest, and even every day, but he doesn’t care. Well, yes, such cases do happen. However, there are many more people in the world who tried to work just as hard, and their apparatus ended up breaking down very quickly.

    The household class can be divided into two more types. Conventionally, they can be called “Chinese” and “non-Chinese” (although most of the non-Chinese ones are still produced in China).

    There are companies that do not produce equipment themselves, but only order it from some Chinese factory. At the same time, it is discussed in advance what color it will be and a sticker with what name will be placed on it. This kind of instrument can be called “Chinese”.

    And the quality, as a rule, is the most “Chinese” in the sense familiar to most. True, among this technology there is something better, for example, Zubr, DWT or Stavr, there are worse ones, for example, Caliber, Whirlwind or Kolner, and there are also very bad ones, for example, Prorab.

    Other companies have own production, even though some of them are located in China. That is, they built the factories themselves, they have their own technologies. Such an instrument can be called “non-Chinese”. These are, as a rule, long-established manufacturers, such as, for example, Skil, Black and Decker, Ryobi, Bosch (green).

    The “non-Chinese” subclass is generally of higher quality than the “Chinese” one. Therefore, in order not to make a mistake, it is better to purchase it for home use. True, the price here is slightly higher.

    It’s logical to buy “Chinese” when you urgently need to do a one-time job, and you have a limited budget.

    Professional tool

    The professional tool has a long service life and is designed for long-term operation. It does not have any restrictions on operating time, but you should not work with it to such an extent that it melts.

    It is quite simple to determine that this is a professional instrument, since brands, there are not so many producing it. The main brands of this class that can be found in stores today are Bosch ( of blue color), Makita, Hitachi, Dewalt, AEG, Kress and Metabo.

    Total 7 manufacturers. Of course, there are others, but these seven manufacturers are most represented in Russia.

    Naturally, all these products are produced at these companies’ own factories. Therefore, you should not be afraid to buy it, even if it says that it was made in China.

    It is clear that the main purpose of a professional power tool is to work in a professional environment. However, no one will forbid you to buy it for your home. Thus, you will insure yourself against sudden breakdowns that household appliances even with correct operation, sometimes happen.

    Naturally, if you have started a major renovation of your home, then it is also recommended to purchase professional equipment for this.

    It should be noted that in addition to these two classes, there is also an intermediate one - the so-called semi-professional. It will be more reliable than a household one, but it will not reach the level of a professional one. This class includes, for example, devices from Sparky.

    In addition, there is also a highly reliable class, which is commonly called industrial. You rarely see it in store windows due to its high cost. Representatives of this class are, for example, Hilti, Milwaukee, Festool and others. This technique is practically indestructible, and is used in industries where extreme loads are placed on the tool.

    Final rating

    Based on the information presented, we will compose our reliability rating:

    1. Industrial grade. Examples - Hilti, Milwaukee, Festool.
    2. Professional class. Examples - Bosch (blue), Makita, Hitachi, DeWalt, AEG, Metabo, Kress.
    3. Semi-professional class. Example - Sparky.
    4. Household class:
    • - 4a. "Non-Chinese." Examples - Ryobi, Black&Decker, Bosch (green), Skil.
    • - 4b. "Chinese". Examples - Zubr, Caliber, Omax, DWT, Whirlwind, DeFort, Hander, Grad-M, Stern, Bikor, Prorab, Stavr, Kolner, Enkor and several dozen more names.

    So now you know why different instruments like this different prices. I do not claim to be 100% true, but in general the picture looks approximately as described in this article. I hope knowledge about the classes of power tools will help you make the right choice when purchasing it.

    That's all for this topic. Read other materials on my website! And see you again!

    Almost all processes in industry and construction today are performed not manually, but with the help of electric motor tools. They help with many small tasks around the house, especially when carrying out renovations. There is no such thing as an extra drill on the farm, Sander, hammer drill, screwdriver, etc. If you need to cut tiles, stone blocks, make a frame from metal profile or cut the mesh, which is placed in the masonry to strengthen the walls or in cement screed, then without grinding machine, which is popularly called a grinder, simply cannot be done. More precisely, you can get by, but all those processes that a power tool performs in a matter of seconds, a mechanical or manual tool can be completed in a few hours at great expense physical strength.

    Power tools can be stationary or portable. This equipment can be made in a metal or plastic case, depending on the feasibility and price limit.
