Which sites on site are in particular demand among tenants?

Unlike some capital teams, Lokomotiv never lacked their own “home”. Already in 1935, the Stalinets stadium of the trade union of electrical industry workers was opened in Cherkizovo. The earthen stands and uncomfortable locker rooms went against the arena's grand name. In addition to Lokomotiv, many capital teams played at the Stalinets stadium. Immediately after the war, Dynamo, Zheleznodorozhniki and other Moscow clubs played at Stalinets. The stadium first learned the concept of “sold out” in 1945, when it hosted meetings between CSKA and Dynamo, Torpedo and Spartak.

Directly, the stadium acquired its team in the singular during the reign of Nikita Sergeevich Khrushchev. "Stalinist" gradually became outdated. Bulk stands are a thing of the past, and modern buildings have appeared in their place. The opening took place during the game between Lokomotiv and Dynamo Kyiv. Many capital teams, suffering due to the lack of their own stadium, quite often played home games at the Lokomotiv stadium. The unsuccessful performance of the “railroad workers” in those days could not attract full stands, and sellouts were extremely rare, despite the favorable location of the arena.

The formal “call” for the reconstruction of the stadium was scandalous story with a replay of the UEFA Cup match. Representatives of the Swiss club Sion began measuring the gates of the Lokomotiv stadium before the European Cup match with Spartak in Moscow. As it turned out, world standards only slightly deviated from the standards in the “railway” arena, but the Swiss insisted on a replay. A few years later, a decision was made to reconstruct the arena, which did not justify itself due to the high costs. It is better to spend money on something new than to restore the old from ruins - the executives thought and, rolling up their sleeves, began to work hard.

Huge cracks appeared in the reinforced concrete masonry of two stands, and the concrete crumbled in their hands. After examining Moszheldorproekt specialists, it became clear that major renovation in the case of the Lokomotiv stadium it will no longer help. The chief designer was former head MPS Nikolai Aksyonenko, who put his heart and soul into the club. In addition to the construction of the stadium, Lokomotiv received a new base in Bakovka. Committee athletics refused to allocate money to update treadmills. After a short meeting, it became known that the Lokomotiv stadium would cease all sports activities except football.

While Lokomotiv was being built, the team of the same name played in the Moscow region of Ramenskoye at the Saturn team arena. There, the “railroad workers” held qualifying matches for the Champions League, and the first group match in Loko’s history was held at Dynamo. On July 5, 2002, the stadium opened its brand new doors to everyone. "Lokomotiv" hosted "Uralan" from Elista. Semochko scored the first goal into his own goal. “Lokomotiv” won with a minimal score, but the official opening took place on August 3rd at the game “Lokomotiv” - “Torpedo”. The stadium shocked everyone with its beauty. The six-story building with two tiers of stands is truly amazing. Inside the arena there is a Lokomotiv office, administrative offices, a Lokomotiv boarding school, tennis courts, fitness centers, an ice rink, and storage lockers. Architect

Dmitry Bush even provided special elevators in the area of the box for honored guests.
The level of the arena allows it to host matches of any rank, both domestic and international. The “railroad workers” are especially proud of their unique field, which includes both artificial and real grass. This combination helps to maintain good quality lawn Concerning appearance arena, it is very much reminiscent of the Amsterdam Arena. Experts say that Lokomotiv was designed according to the plans for the stadium of the Dutch Ajax. In the four corners of the stadium there are giant supports in the shape of the letter "L".

Our stadium is becoming more comfortable, events for fans and all Muscovites are being held here more and more often. We always welcome guests, not only on match days. The director for special projects of FC Lokomotiv Sergey Zohrabyan spoke about the important mission of the stadium.

WHY IS THE STADIUM NOT JUST FOR FOOTBALL?

The purpose of the stadium is initially not only sports. Suffice it to recall the progenitor of modern stadiums, the Roman Colosseum, where large-scale entertainment events were held daily.

If we talk about more modern trends, then world experience shows that using a stadium for exclusively sporting events is ineffective from a commercial point of view. In fact, if the stadium belongs to any football club, then no more than thirty matches are held on it during the year. The rest of the time the building is idle. But these are direct losses, since regardless of the matches being held, you have to bear operating costs.
This is why the world's leading stadiums strive to achieve maximum capacity throughout the year. This is achieved by holding a variety of events that are not related to professional sports. Conventionally, they can be divided into the following areas:

  • 1. Concerts, shows, festivals
  • 2. Business and exhibition events
  • 3. Corporate and private events
  • 4. Tourism
  • 5. Corporate sports

This full-scale use returns the stadium to its historical purpose - an urban center for all kinds of events.

WHAT IS OUR STADIUM AND ITS TERRITORY UNIQUE?

The main difference and huge advantage of our arena is the large surrounding area and rich infrastructure. Essentially, we are talking about a large stadium complex, which houses two European-level football arenas, an ice palace, tennis courts, a park, banquet and conference rooms, outdoor and indoor training fields and much more. Thanks to this wealth, we can hold completely different format events and satisfy almost any request.

WHAT EVENTS WERE HELD IN THE LAST YEAR?

I will note our own festivals – LokoYolka, Maslenitsa and LokoLand. The total audience of these events was about ten thousand visitors! What is especially important is that among them there is a large proportion of people who have never been to our arena before. We consider them as potential fans of the club, thanks to whom attendance at our main team's matches can increase.

In addition, about 40 corporate and private events were held. And we already have a number of contracts for events at the end of the year and even for 2018!

WHO IS THE BEST AT ENTERTAINING GUESTS?

Considering our experience, head coach Yuri Semin and the Miranchuk brothers are beyond competition. Yuri Pavlovich brilliantly performed as Father Frost at our New Year's LokoYolka, and the brothers showed their extraordinary abilities in a culinary battle with fans at the summer festival LokoLand. Attraction". What made their performance especially piquant was the fact that they roasted meat with the fans literally the next day after the memorable victory over Spartak.

It’s great that coaches and football players are involved in this entertainment program. This is an important message: the team not only plays for the fans, but is also ready for informal communication on the day off.

WHAT SITES IN THE TERRITORY ARE IN SPECIAL DEMAND WITH TENANTS?

It’s difficult to single out something here, because they fit different formats of events. different sites. Major sporting events - Russian Railways Arena and Sapsan Arena. For corporate sports, training football fields and an ice rink are actively used. For business and festive events - VIP rooms of the main arena.

WHAT EUROPEAN CLUB/STADIUM IS INSPIRING?

I focus on the experience of the British. The Arsenal and Chelsea stadiums, in my opinion, are doing exemplary work in this direction. Of course, the American experience is also interesting, but it still has a rather specific approach that cannot always be transferred to our realities.

WHAT DO FANS AND RESIDENTS OF THE AREA SAY ABOUT THE NEW LIFE OF THE STADIUM?

At our festivals we regularly conduct surveys of visitors, and, I will say without false modesty, the reviews are the most positive. Interestingly, many residents of the surrounding areas say that they had no idea that the stadium could be such a fun time for the whole family. Here we have to break the ingrained stereotype that the stadium is only about football and an aggressive atmosphere.

THE MOST UNUSUAL REQUESTS/ORDERS

Literally the last one – a wedding in the Diamond hall of the main arena. Moreover, the newlyweds met at our stadium at the Lokomotiv match! And so we decided to celebrate the wedding at the place we met. Great tradition!

Or recently - on the southern square of the stadium there was a competition of professional skills of truck drivers of one of the largest grocery retail chains in the country. It turned out to be a very spectacular event.

WHAT'S IN THE PLANS?

We dream that the stadium will live active life 365 days a year. Therefore, we will increase our momentum: hold increasingly large-scale festivals of our own and attract interesting events from our corporate customers. From the nearest ones we invite all fans to the second New Year festival “LokoYolka”, which will take place in the second half of December. We are already working on the festival program and we can confidently say that it will be even cooler than last year!
Get ready for the holidays and new good times!

press service of FC Lokomotiv

Construction of the stadium began in 2000. And already in 2002 its opening took place, timed to coincide with Railway Worker’s Day.

The uniqueness of the stadium is in its “suspense”. The roof of the arena is supported by cables stretched over four reinforced concrete pylons (this creates the impression that there are four letters “L” along the edges of the stadium). A similar “suspension” technology is used in the construction of bridges. But a roof, and one of such an impressive size, had never been installed anywhere before the Russian Railways Arena.

RZD Arena is a purely football stadium. There are no running tracks between the field and the stands, only a deep three-meter ditch. It is designed so that law enforcement agencies do not need to occupy several lower rows. By the way, the distance between the rows has been increased for the convenience of fans.

The two-tier stands are divided into four separate sides: "North", "South", "East" and "West". In addition, along the perimeter of the entire stadium between the upper and lower tiers VIP boxes are held.

The stadium was transferred to Lokomotiv during Khrushchev’s times. The stadium, with the same name for the club, opened on the site of the demolished “Stalinets” with bulk stands and monumental columns on August 17, 1966. The stadium's capacity was about 30 thousand spectators (in the mid-90s, when the benches were replaced with individual plastic seats, the capacity was reduced to 24 thousand).

In 2000, construction began on a new stadium. By 2002 it was completed. A modern Lokomotiv stadium was built, which is one of the best in the country. Planning-wise, the stadium bowl, both during the reconstruction of the 1960s and during the construction of a new stadium, remained in the place originally designed by Vasiliev and Wegman.
The Lokomotiv stadium project was awarded a diploma from the traditional review of Moscow architecture “Golden Section”.

In the summer of 2017, the Lokomotiv stadium hosted renovation work. The arena's capacity was reduced from 28,800 to 27,320 seats; chairs were replaced to match the club colors: the upper tier is red, the lower tier is green; Four new scoreboards were installed in the corners of the stadium bowl.

Stadium characteristics

Along the perimeter of the field, behind the side and end lines, stripes are laid artificial grass. The lawn originally brought from Switzerland turned out to be of poor quality and partially did not take root. It had to be replaced as soon as possible. And in May 2003, a new combined turf stitched with synthetic fibers was laid at the stadium. To protect the lawn during the cold season, the field is covered with a special tent, under which heated air is supplied.

The spectator stands are covered with a light-transmitting ring canopy, supported on the outer side by the outer columns of the building, and on the inner side through a ring beam, suspended by guy ropes to four cable-stayed chains, which are fixed on four L-shaped pylons 55 m high. The area of the translucent coating is 20 thousand square meters. m².

For the facades used: cladding from of stainless steel, cladding made of galvanized painted steel, reinforced concrete with a special anti-corrosion, waterproofing coating. The interior decoration is simple and functional. Within the framework of design and construction work a number of major fundamental developments were carried out, first applied in domestic construction practice:
– a unique steel Basic structure canopy covering over the stands;
– for the folds of the stands, ultra-dense modified concrete was used, which is, in fact, a full-fledged roof for the premises under the stands;
– calculation of the light-transmitting coating over the stands (about 80% of light transmission);
– during the development of the project, computer calculations and modeling of climatic parameters in the stands and on the field were carried out.

The football club Lokomotiv (Moscow) plays its home matches at the stadium.
The host team played the first match at the new stadium on July 5, 2002 against the Uralan team. The first official goal was scored in that match by Ukrainian Uralan defender Dmitry Semochko.

Our stadium is becoming more comfortable, events for fans and all Muscovites are being held here more and more often. We always welcome guests, not only on match days. The director for special projects of FC Lokomotiv Sergey Zohrabyan spoke about the important mission of the stadium.
